    Thanks. Nice find.

Lakers getting dissed by the Rolling Stones!

Is this meme pretty widespread in America? Just a Los Angeles thing?
Kinda embarrassing for the Lakers. If a lot of people think this way, it makes it easier for Dwight to leave. Who wants to play with a bunch of old codgers, especially a 27 year old in his prime, expected to carry the team. And from the sounds of it, Laker fans are a bunch of whiney prats. Dwight needs to make his escape the sooner the better!

Do you think the presentation of all these arguments is aided by the arguments reasoned out on fan forums like Clutch Fans?

It seems sometimes that a lot of the reports mirror the discussions and conclusions on clutch fans. Its almost like these reporters read clutch fans, do a little bit of research into the exact numbers and then write a story based on the exact same ideas.

If so, the weight of the arguments favour Houston.

I haven't heard a good LA talking point apart from we're a storied team, the LA lifestyle is the best, and the media will be angry at him. Not very convincing points at all.

The article Carl linked about is written by Kelly Dwyer. He was a member of ClutchFans long ago before working for Yahoo and still has an active account here, I think.

    Broussard:

    Would he really leave LA?

Good chance he leaves LA. Not saying he will because of the money but...and he does like LA, he's still living there now. The leaks didn't come from him. The Golden State thing overblown. He's looking at all his options. He'll visit teams. Lakers need to worry about Houston.

    ...

5th year is usually the 1st year of another max. But we saw him decline. The back injury took something from him and the shoulder injury. Makes you wonder if he has another injury, it's not a certainty as it would have been before.

He's credible. But he's not an insider.

The operable words that Kennedy used were "AT THIS POINT." We still have more than a month to go before Dwight can actually even just MEET with teams. I have a feeling this is going to drag on well into the summer. I hope I'm wrong, and I hope he can make his decision early, but something tells me he's going to take his time. I believe he wants to give the Lakers every opportunity to re-assess their stance on the future regarding MDA, while also giving other teams a chance to woo him. He's in no rush.

yea part of me thinks Lakers will fire MDA before July so they can show him that they want to keep him in LA

Well, there's no way they fire him without Dwight signing a contract first. Firing MDA is going to cost them millions of dollars, so without a guarantee that Dwight is staying, there's no way they're making that move.

Probably the most credible person coming from Hoopsworld, but that's not saying much. Bill Ingram is probably the least credible there. Kennedy is a tad bit smarter with gloating around about his "sources" and knowledge of what NBA teams and players are doing. Doesn't typically make as many claims he can't back up.

So if you read something that says "according to Alex Kennedy", look up the original article or tweet, and it will probably say something like "from what Im hearing.... my opinion is....X" so he doesn't have to completely put his reputation on the line if what he's hearing isn't accurate at all.

Ha, ha... Broussard really cracks me up.

"I would say he's going here... but five seconds later Im going to say he's probably not."

    Awesome.

Typical Broussard... I really dont think this guy will be employed much longer by ESPN. They really only hired him before because of his Cleveland connection in the years approaching the Lebron situation. He's a complete waste of airtime, and has very little insight as to whats going on behind the scenes.

It might be as simple as Dwight having such a goofy, fun-loving personality, he'll choose a locker room that allows him to be himself while still having a competitive team.

The youthful carefree vibe of the Rockets, the folksy humor of McHale, Morey quoting all those advanced stats to him how he's the greatest, even the laugh of Les Alexander--in the end may just convince Howard.

Is McHale one of the top 5 coaches for black players according to Jalen Rose?
