Great stuff OP. I can't stand when people make personal attacks on others because they think they have more knowledge about upside and potential. Especially since not only is it unpredictable by nature, but also because their methods of analytics are terrible. I love it.
Lowry's awesome! That said, very small sample size this year. 35 PER through two games... crazy. Would think he would do well again tonight. Against his former team, that doesn't have the best PG play anyway.
How was Lowry this season in Toronto? Didn't get to see the games but his FG% is horrendous and his success with the rockets didn't seem to translate.
He upped his game slightly from 2011 Kyle Lowry, and did it while taking on a larger role on a fairly dysfunctional team. He wasn't quite pre-injury 2012 Lowry, that guy that CF was talking up as an All-Star, but he was certainly still a starter. His improved three-point shot has held up. Yeah, 40% from the field isn't great, but half his shots are threes so his efficiency isn't as bad as it seems. Zach Lowe's one of those guys who watches crappy teams a lot more than most of us here, and I seem to recall that pre-Gay trade he pegged Lowry as the player most important to the Raptors' offense, and the one he'd trust most with the ball in his hands. In a general sense, Lowry and Amir Johnson were the bright spots for the Raps this year, with Derozan still an enigma, Gay a mild disappointment, and Bargnani completely falling off a cliff into a black hole of suck.
He played extremely well at the start of the season, got a series of minor injuries that seemed to affect him. HIs numbers post all star are pretty bad, and I think it probably had to do with the addition of black hole Gay.
LOL. He reached the height of netting us a Toronto lotto pick which was parlayed into the package for James Harden.... I'd say that's a height Brooks could never reach.
Gay was new and had no training camp, I'll cut him some slack and not call him black hole. We'll will see what he does after a training camp, integrated in to a more well-designed offense.
Basically picked up from where he left off until he got hurt. Then Calderon went on a tear and took his starting job for awhile.
