Maybe if you'd watch the game without your Heat-colored glasses, you'll see it's not just about the number of fts and fouls the Heat get vs their opponents but the context in which those fouls are called. You could easily see moments in game where the refs are changing the momentum of the game when they call terrible calls against the opposing team, helping the Heat get back up.
this really is the story and i've been mentioning it for 4 games. the pacers are a below average offensive team and the heat are an above average defensive team and the pacers offense is playing well above its head right now. they have shot 50% in 2 of the games and shot 57% from 3's in one of the other games. in their first 12 playoff games, they scored 82 or less 5 times (against 2 defenses ranked below miami's). they haven't scored less than 96 in this series. even not counting the overtime period from game 1 it would have been 92 i believe. i'm sure if daryl morey were here he could explain the probability of such sustained above average offensive production. if they keep it up, they will win the series. if they return to closer to their averages, they probably won't.
That's the way YOU want to see it. I remember you from last seasona and you were one of the biggest heat haters ever. Or am I thinking of someone else?
I don't wanna hear anybody talk about how the Heat get all the calls anymore. The Pacers benefited from a lot of home cooking tonight. They also shot 50% and Stephenson scored 20 pts and and they still only won by 7. I look for the Heat to win in 6 as I initially predicted.
if Kwame and i agree on something, then it must be right. for the series: george hill - 25 fta's on 40 fga's lebron james - 26 fta's on 79 fga's points in the paint - miami +10 free throws - indiana +35
What's the probability of Chris Bosh growing a penis? Will Ray Allen keep getting twice as many rebounds as he does? What's the probability of Shane Battier effectively guarding David West in the post? Ever? Except by flopping? The offensive efficiency of post players goes way up when you are being guarded by flopping pansies like Bosh and Battier instead of guys like Tyson Chandler, Kenyon Martin, and Carmelo Anthony. If you want a key to Indiana losing this series, and they still might (I have only argued that it is destined to be a hard-fought, coin-flip type series, not that the Pacers are guaranteed to win it) then you need to look at the lack of offensive production that the Pacers might get from their bench in these next 3 games. Last year the Pacers starting 5 had the best +/- stats of any starting unit in the entire NBA. Their bench sucked though. They revamped their bench but guess what- it still sucks, on offense anyway. They also replaced Granger with Stevenson in the starting lineup. The first half of the season this year their offense ranked 28th in the league in efficiency. Awful. The last half of the season, though, their offense ranked 8th in the league in efficiency. pretty good when you have the #1 team in defensive efficiency and #1 team in rebounding. So while their bench still sucks on offense, Hibbert has learned to play 40 minutes without fouling instead of playing 28 minutes in foul trouble. Other guys have also learned to play much bigger minutes and Vogel has shortened the bench. West is moving so much better this year than last, when he was coming off the ACL tear. We now have the coin-flip type series that most everybody said was impossible. I am loving it. Of course the "Steven A" and other Talking Heads are still saying "Heat in 6" this morning. That's fine, it's their opinion. Maybe they will never respect what the Pacers are doing to keep this series a toss-up, even if the Pacers win it the story line would be "How did the Heat lose it?" I hope it goes 7. I know the history of home teams in game 7, but I also think that there is a mentality in game 7's that you let the real men play. We are learning which team has more tough guys in the paint and which team has more pansy flopping pretend tough guys.
IND/SAS would be nightmare ratings matchup for Stern, and he already wasted Joey Crawford in game 4 You have to think Crawford will be back for game 6 or 7
This... BTW...on the 6th foul that was on Lebron, the call was made behind Lebron, but the ref in front of the play was Joey Crawford... The LBJ 6th foul: That is a foul usually early in the game, and often never called late. While trying to set a screen, I hate it when players try establishing a low center of gravity while spreading the base of the legs out...that should be a foul every time and was totally surprised that they called it...especially on Stern's darling Lebron...And the fact that he felt there were several fouls on him that he thought were bogus, is only going to mean one thing...In game 5, any Lebron driving attempt at the basket is going to result in FTs. Have to make it easy for the worlds best player...smdh...Im expecting a blow out early in game 5, things are gonna be called too tightly, Indy's rotations are gonna be screwed, and they'll look to stave off elimination in game 6.
unsung stat line of the night: Chris Anderson: 19 minutes, zero shot attempts, two rebounds, four fouls, zero blocks awesome stat of the night: Haslem + Bosh + Battier + Anderson + Anthony = 9 rebounds, combined, in 84 total minutes Hibbert = 12 rebounds in 40 minutes West = 12 rebounds in 39 minutes
Frankly, I'm always shocked when they call a foul on LeBron, so I can understand his fans being apoplectic. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SQHTwWUyCXo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The Big 3 seems dead. Bosh in the playoffs: 13.5ppg 6.8rpg, including 3 boards a night in this series. Wade: 14.3ppg Starting to look like the big 1.
wth? that article is trash. it doesn't even mention anyone by name. it could be all bs for all we know... although i wouldn't doubt it to be true, i assume most nba players cheat on their wives/girlfriends.
