Does anyone else get annoyed when posters like jgreen91 posts tweets from random people on the internet, presumably to give their own post the force of professional journalism jgreen91 is no HMMMHMMM or J.R. when it comes to posting tweets from people worth reading. asst coach and health teacher at some high school asst Pastor and Evangelist Some girl who likes "college ball. and chasing a dream out here in California." Now Trey sounds pretty cool. He's a "Product of Shreveport" who doesn't like money but he does like opportunity. Shreyans likes football, beer, friends and "GOA" ... I assume that's either Gamers of Anarchy or the small Indian state called Goa. Hey, jgreen91. Nice work finding these quality bball critics on Twitter. Keep up the good work.
If we REALLY want to get technical, Wade really puts both hands on the ball and pushes off on his stepback foot simultaneously. If indeed the refs called the travel on that, I'm surprised that they were able to tell if he grabs the ball with both hands before he pushes off. It's hard to tell on a slow motion replay, let alone real game time.
After watching that video again, there is no chance the refs even noticed wade lifting his left foot. That video is very low quality, so its hard to even see if he did. They did not call the travel because of that, otherwise why did they wait 3 seconds after the move to call it?
I think that last second kick with his left leg triggered the whistle. In that gif, it seemed like he was on that front foot for a second.
Yeah I'm realizing that they probably missed the clear and obvious travel on the pump fake and opted to call the more debatable travel, lol. What was did technically was just like what a lot of NBA players do, but he did it in an exaggerated way and it just didn't look right.
Personally I think it was clearly a travel ! He left both feet at the same time while he had already picked up his dribble.... That's by definition a travel... I have to add that they call that travel very rarely and so it is very astonishing that they call it that late in the game... But, by the way, the offensive call on LeBron (even though I'm NOT a Heat fan) was a much worse !!!
A step back is not a travel. You can take two steps and the first foot to hit the ground is the pivot foot. You can argue it was a late whistle if he did raise his left foot before dribbling. At least you have something there.
Yup, it is really annoying me because it has become a trend now...random idiots on the internet are credible because they can be embedded.... Yup, exactly what I said. It seems he did travel a bit before that, but right after the GIF cuts off he moves that pivot foot again the super OBVIOUS part.
GIF cuts off too early, thats not what they called it was on the swing around pass. If I had some way of showing you guys what I DVRed I would...
He picked up his dribble before the step-back, so it is a travel... or am I wrong and he picked it up while he did the step-back ?
Watch the video on page 3. Now everyone is saying it was a late whistle because it looks like he may have picked his left foot off the ground before dribbling in. He did not travel after the step back nor did he shuffle his feet during the pass to battier.
Agreed he traveled. Look at the whole play before he gets the ball. He went passed a screen and messed up his hesitation. The call was extremely late. That gif that was posted doesn't show it.
d wade traveled before the step back, he shuffled his feet. Calls that game didnt go well for both teams, imo it = out.
don't act like ref don't make bad call they called 24 sec violation on pacers when clearly the ball hit the rim
who cares if he traveled or not the pla before they called a 24 sec violation when i was clearly not and hasb score after the hibs shoot that hit the rim... travel or not sounds like a make up call
It was clearly a travel. He clearly picked up the ball before and established his pivot foot before he stepped back. The reason the step-back usually isn't a travel is either because most players do it right and don't pick up the ball until after their front foot leaves the ground, or they just do it so fast that the refs give them the benefit of the doubt, but there was no way Wade was getting the benefit of the doubt when there was an obvious delay between the pick up and step back.
The step back move is a variation of the jump stop move. After you take a step, you have to land with both feet simultaneously. Harden's feet land simultaneously, whereas Wade lands in an exaggerated shuffle.
Yeah, one bad call vs many. It makes it look far its bad both ways if a big one like that is called in favor of the heat. The. Lebron hits a three and suddenly the pacers might lose so its back to favoring indiana. Is it really this easy to fool people? Yes.
