LosPollos is right Wade isn't exactly playing bad. He just isn't being very aggressive in looking for his own shot .
You cannot step back with your pivot foot, after you have picked up your dribble. It's not complicated, or a grey area. IT IS MOVING YOUR PIVOT FOOT. It's a traveel in grade school, middle school, high school, college, the NBA, the YMCA, the WNBA, the NBADL, and the whiner flopper league (with its president Shane Battier)
If that wasn't a travel. I haven't learned much of anything watching basketball for 20 years. I thought it was an obvious call.
Time for those people in the game thread to start backtracking. It was a travel, they just called it late bla bla bla. His footwork was perfect. It was not a travel.
Looking at that gif I'm just confused. It is a really weird looking step back but it looks like a legal stepback.
If you are talking about the ball hitting the floor after he takes the first step then that call would be made every other possession. It is not called in the nba.
It wasn't a travel. It did look weird though. I mean, it kind of looks like he stepped twice with his left foot on the step back, but he really didn't.
not the entire play, I'm pretty sure he moves after that too, the gif just conveniently happens to cut off
Step back, step forward, step sideway... a step is a step, or two really. He established his right foot as pivot when he picked up the ball, then he picked up his pivot with the ball still in his hand. Now you make the call.
Here we go. You've just insulted everyone in this thread who either doesn't think it was a travel or who isn't sure. You are the definition of an annoying homer.
