It's fast, as hell. Too bad AT&T dominates for the most part in Texas.
(Residential services that is, because VZW dominates the country in cell service)

As your neighbors to see which they like the best. Hiccups in the system can happen anywhere in the line and only affect certain neighborhoods. But it does seem comcast is notorious for problems.

I had verizon DSL for years and never had a problem. They have since sold off to Frontier. Once the buyout was settled, I've had non stop problems with service.

They are Frontier Communications in certain parts of the country.
Indiana especially, but they still use old VZW circuits. VZW landline service still exists in most states.

If DSL is still in your picture, i recommend using DSL Extreme.

They run on wholesale provider, IKANO.

I recommend to stay away from CLEAR!

I tried Clear for one month and within two weeks they were throttling my speeds. I called technical support and asked them what the hell was going on and they told me that the tower I was getting my signal from was tagging me as a high end user. In those 2 weeks, I had only used 15 gb's of service and somehow I was already being tagged as a high end user. Thankfully, I noticed their fault within that month, cancelled their service, and got my money back. This was only half the battle, they made it hell to get my money back, took nearly 2 months. Till this day I'm still getting bills from them that they've tried to charge my credit card but it refused to pay them. I call them every time I get a bill from them and for some reason their excuse is that they can't remove me from the system. WTF!

I use to have AT&T DSL and although it was very reliable, the fastest speed I would get to my house was 768 kbps, so I cancelled them.

I ended up with comcast, I bought a motorola surfboard modem (DOCSIS 3.0), and been pretty good ever since. My internet goes off every other week or so, but it's usually only for 1-5 minutes so it is no big deal. Quite frankly I hate comcast, but I really had no choice. What is funny about comcast is that when I got my service, I told the cust. rep that I did not need any starter package that I would buy every thing myself and install it myself. Well, when my bill came, I still got charged the starter package, I was getting a monthly charge for leasing a modem, and I was getting some other unknown charge. It took two days of calls to get this fixed. I ****ing hate comcast.

Comcast in the last year has been surprisingly reliable and fast. For awhile it was very in and out but they finally finished installing new equipment plus lines & it has been great. I only use the internet service though, some of the neighbors say the tv signal still breaks up especially at night during prime time. I had given up on it and went to O.T.A antenna 2 years ago. That and a ROKU box (best thing since bread & butter and ALSO BBQ).;)

Im curious. What do you guys pay for your service? What is the best route to go for good internet speeds and a decent tv package?

Downgrading from xfinity 30mbs to uverse 6mps is the worst. I was spoiled by it and now i feel like exploding when i can't load and play a non hd youtube video straight through without buffering. The guy did say they are going to have up to 50mbs available soon for Uverse but its prob gonna be too expensive.

Just upgraded to Comcast 105/20. It's amazing.

Only get about 75 via wireless but that's a limitation of the nic's of my devices. Thank goodness for gigabit ports.

My route was Comcast internet, and DirecTV satellite service.

comcast is the best IMO. Never had a problem in my previous 2 addresses but my current one only takes uverse which is a clear downgrade IMO. I was getting like 105mb/s to like 15mb/s max now with uverse
