Wouldn't bringing up Springer now start his clock a year early, as opposed to bringing him up in July?

If so, as much as I want to see him, i'd rather wait a month. If i'm wrong on that though, bring him on!

Yeah , as excititng as it would be, i dont think the astros are planning on bringing up springer. Maybe Fields has finished his rehab assignment. I think our outfield has enough bodies with crowe and barnes that Grossmans replacement doesnt nessecarily have to be an OF.

3rd base, 2nd, and catcher all MLB level talent...and Marwin has a good glove at SS..I like the infield.

Was I the only one surprised not to see Altuve bunt in the 8th? Situation was runners on 1st/2nd, 0 out, Castro on deck. Tie game.

I know Altuve is right with Castro in terms of the team's most productive hitter. But to me, in a spot where 1 run would probably mean the game, if you can get a runner on third with under two out for one of your best hitters... I think you have to take it. I get that Altuve is a good hitter too, and he had a nice day... I was just surprised. Particularly given that Porter has called for quite a few bunts of late. I think Altuve is good enough that it's not a slam-dunk decision, but my instinct would've been to bunt (and I say that as someone who is extremely anti-bunting in most situations.)

But all's well that ends well. My guess is that the Grossman demotion is connected with Fields and not an MILB outfielder... time seems ideal for Barnes to get a two-week look in CF before Maxwell returns.

Just scored 4 front row seats for today's game in the Crawford Boxes for $16 each on StubHub!

    Awesome!

Feels good to be on the right side of a bases loaded no-outs situation where nobody scores.

Only if the rest of the inning would have played out the exact same way. Had he been successful, Corporan may have lined into a double play rather than walking, or he may have hit a HR. The fact is that we do not know how the inning would have progressed had the situation changed.

Anyone else here? I'm liking the fact that the kids start "lets go Astros" chants to make it a little less devastatingly quiet.

Doesn't change the fact as to what would have happened. For example, after the caught stealing, the pitcher was back to throwing from the windup as to the stretch. Had he still be pitching from the stretch, with a runner on base, no telling if he would have even thrown the same pitch.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think his control would have improved.

Jason Castro is AL player of the week. First Astros catcher since Craig Biggio.

    That is pretty remarkable.

Much needed loss. Marlins were starting to create some separation.

    LOL.

I remember the days when Roger Clemens and Andy Petite were throwing gems.

    Anyways, back to reality.
