About Linkin Park, liked Hybrid Theory. Couple scattered decent radio singles after that. The "Transformers song" is acceptable, did what it had to do. It comes down to...the the thread title is accurate. LP lead singer has ALWAYS been unconvincing, definitely the weakest link. They brought "nu metal" forward and set it back too. The "Strokes / Hives / White Stripes" period that followed sounded SO refreshing in contrast
As a fan of actual metal, I just want it noted that as a music genre, so-called "nu metal" is stillborn. Off topic, but just wanted to get that in there.
On behalf of rhythm sections everywhere, f%$# you! But seriously, STP's bassist Robert DeLeo writes the bulk of the band's music. He and his brother have been carrying Weiland's junkie ass for years. I'm not a big STP fan but some of their arrangements are actually quite unique for a rock band. Unfortunately, it would seem the band traded a junkie for a douchebag. Perhaps they should have let the roadies choose the replacement.
The last STP album with Weiland wasn't very good, but that thing was f$&king awful. Chester can yell and that's about it.

Showing up to gigs an hour late and wasted on a normal basis will get you fired unless your name is Axl Rose. They finally just had enough of Weilands bull****. The last time they played here in Houston Weiland was an hour late and ****ing smashed. I will never spend a dime to see that bozo again after that fiasco.
