I like how when Hoopsworld doesn't involve the Rockets or has news about the Rockets that people don't like, its Poopsworld (which it is).
But when its amazing news, like Rockets are frontrunner for Dwight, they are suddenly credible.

People, Hoopsworld is NEVER a legitimate source.
    Ever.

Thanks. I didn't know hoopsworld was that bad.

I don't know much about NBA reporters. What is the most credible source that has reported on the Dwight to Houston story to date?

Jarred Rudolph is probably the best (he has connections with Dwight) but I don't think anyone really knows what exactly is going to happen right now.
If they ever get info and tweet it, Marc Stein and Adrian Wojnarowski are the best in the business.

    Thanks.

Rudolf seems to be pretty strong on Dwight going to Houston.

I'll be watching for breaking news from Stein and Woj.

To be honest, a lot of the basketball reporting I've been reading seems like trash journalism, almost as if these reporters get their narratives from fan forums like this. It's really a joke. I'd trust someone like BimaThug more than a lot of these NBA journalists. How did NBA reporting get so bad?

Hey, you make it sound like Mr BT is merely better than trash journalists! Mr BT is worthy of respect on his own insightful merit.

True. Poopsworld is trash, always has been and always will be.

However, and this relates to all the offseason news coming out, you have to like that all the rumors are tilted towards Houston. Last summer, all the rumors were for LA following the NJ debacle. And in the end that's where he went despite the thoughts here(myself included) that the Rockets could've provided the better package.

While I don't think Dwight to Houston is anywhere near a done deal. I honestly have no clue. But it's obvoius that we are legitimately in the running this time. That it's a legit chance. That more than I can say for any star Morey has pursued since Yao/T-Mac's demise.

Ok, my Memorial weekend trip is over and I will tone down my posting a bit now that I'm home and not sitting around waiting for my wife to finish shopping. But I will leave you all with this question:

If Dwight really wanted to be on the best possible team (giving up the 5th year option and $30 mil), why wouldn't he and his agent try and get on the Clippers? If they dumped DeAndre Jordan and Caron Butlers' contract, they should have space to sign Howard and CP3. This would put him on this team and also allow him to stay in LA where he wants to be without any of the pressure of being on Lakers. Nobody ever expects anything out of the Clippers anyway:

    PG: CP3/Eric Bledsoe
    SG: Jamal Crawford
SF: Paul Pierce (rumors are he wants to relocate back to LA after Celtics buy him out)
    PF: Blake Griffin
    C: Dwight Howard

They can fill the rest with shooters and role players. Plus, this would draw Stan Van Gundy out of retirement possibly. It was odd that sources came out last week indicating the Clippers are not pursuing Dwight anymore and taking their name out of the hat. My first thought was that CP3 did not want to deal with him because Howard flaked on him last time around. Or, maybe they are trying to draw attention away so they can work out the plan without media snooping around.

But in the end, I just don't see Howard going for this super team on the Clippers because he knows that he's on the brand name team in LA and in the NBA and wants to continue playing in front of celebs that are there to see him. Clippers don't offer the same status that he gets from the Lakers even if they would be an elite team with this core. The funny thing about the Lakers and LA is that, even if the Clippers won 3 straight championships, the players would still rather be on the Lakers. Moving out of LA just seems even more unrealistic, but it is Dwight Howard so who knows. Real Laker fans root for the name on the front of the jersey and not the back.

What's funny is that everytime Dwight Howard's name is brought up on the Clippers boards, people are generally completely against the idea. I'm surprised there are so many Rockets fans that really want him to go to Houston. Must be the big name status or something. Personally, if I were a Rockets fan, I'd want to stick with Asik and bring in a top notch PF to fill the real hole on the roster.

1.) Not enough money for Dwight's max.
2.) If any team can just dump 18 million in salary they could sign Dwight, but no team is going to touch Jordan's toxic deal.

Haha. I know. DeAndre Jordan was the worst mistake ever...Clippers should have just let the Warriors have him like the Knicks and Bulls did with Lin and Asik. He is from Houston though. You guys don't want him for Parsons?

Clippers haven't got much room to maneuver after signing CP3.

+ would Dwight wanna stay in LA after blowing off the Lakers?

Must be something in the LA water that makes people there think other teams can't wait to dump their best players over there for their current trash. We are coming for Dwight and I sure hope LA gets the shock of their life when they see a superstar player, in their prime, choose to leave LA because...for once, well, their team really sucks lol.

You really shouldn't disparage LA drinking water...

But I do agree that their teams are TRASH

Oh god no, I would never do that. And sticking with Asik to bring in a top notch PF would be awesome...if one were available this summer or next. I am a fan of Josh Smith, but it is very iffy if he's the sole missing piece, know what I mean?

If LMA or even Bosh were available this summer, I'd go for them instead tbh.
