Did I just hear that right? Jeff "flopper hater" van gundy just encouraged manu "flopper" ginobili to flop on a play where ginobili didn't flop???
They are comparing him to the Parker that first came into the league. Give Lin several more years and a game like this wont be out of the question. Classy move by Gasol.
Parker compared Parker to Lin: http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....eremy-lin-reminds-him-of-a-young-tony-parker/ Obviously Jeremy is far from Parker's level, but Jeremy's style of play in NY was more similar to Parker than to Nash. Again, people are talking about style of play, not skill level.
Parker himself compared Parker to Lin. Lin has a quick first step too. It's developing your other hand and learning to finish in traffic. Parker kept improving. The thing against Lin is that he is way older than Parker when Tony came into the league. Greg Pop rode Parker hard and Parker got better.
No. Only if Lin plays in a team ball system like the Spurs can he possibly even come close to Parker. Rockets ball is a little too sticky. Actually Lin could be a good back-up to Parker. He is the type of player the Spurs crave, but alas, they have a great Aussie back-up in Patty Mills!
