I did Insanity for about a month this past winter. The further I went along the more it felt like a chore and it got kinda boring. Not like I really needed it anyways. 6', 165lbs. I did'nt lose any weight, thankfully. Good for the heart, though.

You should give Rushfit a shot. It's a pretty good program, too. I do a mix of P90x, Insanity and Rushfit. They are all great in their own way.

Don't bother with P90x2. Too much foolishness with stability balls and foam rolling.

I agree that Max Interval Circuit is probably the toughest of the cardio videos. However, out of everything, I find the original P90x Chest and Back to be the most brutal workout. I build up so much lactic acid doing that, it makes me want to puke every time.

Yeah I found p90x chest and back to be very tough initially. Like wanting to puke after round one tough... After completing p90x and then insanity, and then going back and doing it again, though, I can complete it and barely break a sweat. There's a huge cardio element to it, also, that I wasn't prepared for when I first started p90x. After building up cardio so much with insanity, chest and back is actually pretty easy now...

Is this okay to do without sneakers / some type of shoes on?

I "finished" day 2 of Insanity; that is, my calves hurt by the time the basketball drills came on, and I didn't continue. I'm doing this at home on carpet, without any shoes on.

put shoes on. some of the side to side movement requires the support

...and you missed the toughest part of the DVD if you stopped at the basketball drills...

Nothing wrong with working out barefoot, especially if you're not in danger of stepping on something dangerous or hitting your foot on something. It'll actually activate more muscles throughout your body.

Your pain probably came from muscle fatigue or usually tight muscles stretching out.

Nope. It was all water. I was doing this in the patio in the backyard and I guess the heat wasn't helping. 58 days to go.

Does everyone doing this follow their nutrition guide? Do you still eat whatever but just watch how much of it you eat? I'm trying to find a balance.

Last summer, my coworkers and I were doing this. The first day. It was crowded. Lots of people. The next day, only three quarters returned. By the 30th day or so, less than 10. I want to get back on this, I don't have the video. I actually gained some weight. I gained three pounds. I went from 147 to 150.

The first day, my legs killed me. It killed me for the week. Usually, walking upstairs is a drag, but going down was the worse feeling ever.

Just finished week 3. It's not near as tough as I was expecting based on what I've heard. By far the hardest part is having to watch the stupid faces that Asian chick makes every time they zoom in on her.

I tried Insanity for two days but it wasn't for me. It's too cardio intensive. I find that Insanity/cardio represses and drains all the energy and enthusiasm I have when I work out. Where as lifting weights, really pumps me up and gets me going.

That's why I stick to my own workout program. Lifting weights, compound movements, hit a different body part everyday. Chest/tris-monday, shoulders-tuesday, Back/biceps- wednesday and so on.

Do whatever works for you. It wasnt my cup of tea, but as long as it gets you off your butt everyday. "Just do your best and forget the rest".

    Good luck!

    Update on me:

I basically fell off the wagon when I went back to school. I went back to school full time, and was working full time, and basically did not have much time or energy to continue working out. I graduated about a month ago, and take my board exam on Thursday. I've done a session or two of insanity here and there since, and even some T25 (Shaun T's new workout program), but over the time I went back to school, I slowly gained back 20 pounds. It really sucks.

Basically, after my test on Thursday, I'm gonna get back on this thing. Whether it's insanity or not, I'm not sure. But we got to Hawaii in December, and I want to lose at least a portion of that 20 pounds before then. We'll see what happen...

Lol, going with my wife and her family. She has many cousins there she's never met.

Motivation is to be in shape for tons of hiking/snorkeling. Would love to kayak, too. Love to kayak.

The workout on T25 today was tough! Its like insanity, except each workout is only 25 minutes, but there's no breaks at all.
