Screw my sons college education , I'm sending him to Olajuwon University!
How much do you think a 10yr old can learn from the great one?

Doesn't bode too well for Hakeems training methods if Amare and Javale McGee are an indication.

I used to dislike the guy's attitude, but recently I find myself supportive of the guy. Ever since maybe a year or two ago, I think it dawned on him that he didn't fulfill his potential and that he has to get back to being hungry.

I recall reading about how hard he worked to rehab. Then in the limited time he played last season, he actually worked hard to be efficient and merge into the team. Just better decisions he seemed to be making with improved fitness.

With the last injury, I don't think it was anything major. Timing was unfortunate and of course it's tiring seeing him on the IL so often, but I think the guy has 1 or 2 good seasons left in him.

He seems dead set on having a good next season. In his exit interview he was adamant that the ball should go inside more and now he has joined Hakeem for the summer. Many posters have said that a couple of weeks with Olajuwon is unlikely to shift anyone's trajectory - but if Amare does this every summer and spends time on reinforcing what he learned, I think he's on the right track to improvement.

He won't earn that contract, but he'll have done his best and produced some at least. Good on him.

I'd take Amare 3.0, only if we don't trade the players on the Rockets starting lineup. Any inside players that plays with Melo is going to get underachieve. There is a reason why Tyson Chandler spoke up during the series with the Pacers.

He is not underachieving...he is not playing. He hasn't been able to stay healthy for two years. Why would you tie up ridiculous money like that for a guy that can't stay on the floor? Do you really think Stoudamire is going to turn back into a 26/9 guy ? Because that's how he is being paid.

LOL this is exactly what I was thinking. Just some more typical 'fake hustle' from one of the league leaders in fake hustle.

Knicks to nix STAT's Dream camp

The Knicks have decided that it's best for Amar'e Stoudemire to rest his oft-injured knees rather than participate in Hakeem Olajuwon's camp for big men, a source with knowledge of the decision confirmed.

Stoudemire worked on his post moves at Olajuwon's camp for two weeks last August. He was scheduled to do so again this month but plans have changed due to concerns over the health of his knees. The source with knowledge of the decision says there is nothing currently wrong with Stoudemire's knees. The source described the decision as precautionary. Due to previous knee troubles, Stoudemire will play with a minutes limit this season. He is expected to be capped at 20 minutes per game.

"They just want him to be healthy for the season and to put him in position to have a successful season," the source said.

The New York Post first reported the news that Stoudemire would be skipping the camp. The source with knowledge of the talks stressed that nothing was set in stone at this point, but as of Friday afternoon, the plan was for Amar'e to skip the camp.

Stoudemire's co-agent, Travis King, told ESPNNewYork.com's Jared Zwerling that the plan is up in the air at this point. Stoudemire coached the Canadian team in the Maccabiah Games and is currently touring Israel.

"Not sure if he is still going," King said. "Waiting to meet with him once he returns from Israel."

Carmelo Anthony was expected to participate in the Hakeem Camp as well, but the source said that he is unlikely to do so.

Just watched the doc about amare on Netflix and I have a lot of respect for that young man. I mean to overcome what he has in life and his career is incredible. It would be easy for him to quit with the money he's made, but he's determined. I wish the best for that dude.

He got injured on the legs. If his injury is for other place, say back and hands, he could still be a beast. There will be no Blake Griffin if Stoudemire is healthy. Griffin is basically Stoudemire, just not as talented.
