    -get a halfcourt offense
-more commitment defensively from the entire roster especially in terms of transition defense. need a real backup center, our defense goes to crap when asik is on the bench.
-get more consistent shooting the ball with presumably better role players
-make smarter decisions and not turn it over so damn much. this would also help the transition defense..
    -experience is cool too

I think we are going to be amazed at the pieces Morey will put around our stars once he acquires a 2nd superstar player.

Right now he is hamstrung by a need for maximum flexibility, he just fills in the roster with stop gap 1 year guaranteed deals. Think of all the players he would sign but passes on because of this.

Obtain high ceiling, talent players that have the ability to take their game to the next level in a playoff atmosphere. From there the team has a core basis with which to build on. Role players / coach etc can be massaged as needed.

Getting Dwight Howard is a great start.

Well, we need an offensive threat at the PF or C position that can run, another good perimeter defender, and a 6th man type if Carlos Delfino doesn't come back.

If it was possible to sign Kevin Love right now, I think it would immediately make us a top 4 team.

    Only three things really:
    1) Acquire second all-star
    2) Jeremy Lin as to improve a lot and be consistent (I think he will)
    3) We have to cut down on turnovers. They're still learning and growing together.

Hopefully our defense will continue to improve. I only saw mistakes from Beverly, Harden, and Lin during the playoffs. They are still young and should get better with time.

I agree and I would add the emergence of Jones or Donuts. They ned either jones or donuts to take a step and produce consistently like parsons. If they get howard, its critical that one of those pfs improve.

This is it. We need upgrades at those two positions, preferably one of them being a "name", and the Rockets would be set to make some noise.

If Morey is god and can do no wrong, what is the use of suggesting anything? He knows everything right? so why don't you just wait until he does his godly thing and make the Rockets the championship team that we have all been waiting for? Just drink the Morey kool aid and everything will be alright.

Morey has already said Harden is the ONLY untradeable player on the team. So Parsons is tradeable but that doesn't mean it will happen but it most certainly could.

The same can be said if the Rockets don't get Howard.

A Beverly-type player to slow down Durant and an offensive presence in the post to destroy the useless Perkins.

Great. Where can we get a hall of fame power forward to be the building block?

Step 1. Rockets need a big man that can generate his own offense. That way Harden can take a breather and actually play defense again. Right now, there is a mile wide gap between Harden's defense in OKC and here in Houston. Just need a stable no.2 option to lessen the burden on Harden.

Step 2. Lesson the turnovers. Rocket's defensive struggles comes mostly because they just give the opponent the ball. Lessen those with all our players and Rockets would be in the middle of the pack for defense. Let's face it, pretty much the main stating 4 have an abundance of turnovers and everybody needs to work on it.

Step 3. A paint presence when Asik is resting. The Rockets defense goes into the dumpster when the man is sitting. Clearly need a body down there. Greg Smith isn't big enough and worse, he picks up fouls at an alarming rate.

All things being possible, I would probably pull some S&Ts to end up with Chris Paul and Paul Millsap and possibly enough space to sign a decent backup center.

CP3 would work with this team. I don't even question it. He's a solid perimeter defender, fantastic distributor, good shooter, good leader, and he's consistent. Sounds like what we need from the PG and then some to take a little pressure off Harden.

Millsap would also be a great fit. He is an above average defender, knows his limits as an offensive player (unlike J-Smoove), good rebounder, he's an effort kind of guy, and he represents a significant upgrade at the PF position.

That's just one of unlimited scenarios, but I think it makes us a legitimate contender. The only negative is if Millsap can give us enough scoring from the post position, which is a need on this team.
