As am I. "He failed, and he lied." Also remember being a kid and pretty much watching what the grown ups watched. None of this Sponge Bob, Hanna Montana or crazy-ass manga stuff. And your fallback was whatever your dad just never returned: Burglar, Ferris Bueller, Couch Trip. And you got to watch your favorite episode of anything two times, max.

Sounds like your TV didn't get reception the first half of the week or go below channel 19.

Few years ago, I read an opinion about people's support of young stars and talents. Maybe it was about Justin Bieber. (Of course it was some "EUROPE vs US" kinda thing....)

NOT saying I agree with it fully but saying how nowadays people (in US) give young stars more hate from having things "given" to them. Where they "used to" get admiration and support before. (And in other places in the world, young talents are more accepted and even promoted.) People are just "jelly" now I guess.

In all honesty I hate things are shoved down my throat. But I'm not naive to think that nepotism doesnt exist. There's plenty people in the entertainment industry who's a relative of a sibling of a cousin of an aunt/uncle of a familiar face, just they don't have the visible star power.

I've said that before, about music too. (Kids are still subjected to their parents music somewhat, though cell phone & iPod playlists can block that off more now)

But you watched some video rental of a "Damn, this look GOOD" karate movie. After sitting through Designing Woman on TV that was over your head ... And I think parents held away Disney Channel because of cost savings or maybe out of pure spite cuz THEY never had Mickey Mouse all day long. (Thinking back, Nickelodeon pulled off a nice coup getting the old "TV Land" shows. Winning combo for young & old viewers)

And that was around the debut of Fresh Prince. Lots of people's first albums they ever got.

Basically, it makes him a Hollywood entertainer.

So...uhh...how long before Jaden turns into a public douche like Bieber?

(Unfortunately we, as a society, created The Bieber, a monster that will never go away...even if he wanted to.)

Jaden raps better than most MCs on major record label. This dude can go platinum easy without even trying hard and he's only a little kid, lol...

Fresh Prince is slightly below Martin but above the Jamie Foxx show.

He still does a lot of DJ appearances as does D-Nice...It seems like so long ago that I saw Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince open up for Public Enemy at the Summit.

Tell me how the heck the dude remembers Martin and the Jamie Foxx show but not Fresh Prince-considering Fresh Prince and Martin ran around the same time period? [IMG]

And it goes Martin & Fresh Prince, Family Matters and then Jamie Foxx show imo.

Agreed but I'd probably put the Wayans bros over the Jamie Foxx show.

Don't see how someone could watch Martin but not Fresh Prince. Seems like if you were a fan of either show you would at least watch the other one.

Horrible, dated, unsophisticated writing which meant no critical acclaim: which usually garners executive support and aftermarket video sales in lieu of ratings; and a lack of class-aspiration or sex appeal. And whatever niche ad dollars they got from younger viewers went away with Friends and once WB and UPN re-invented teen programming. However, I think live action kids' programming got a little more diverse as a result: Raven-Symone wouldn't have been the second richest Huxtable, after Cosby himself, otherwise.

BET. It's not about comedy anymore. They make shows like "the game" and such.. They don't have that star appeal anymore as in one person carries the show. I would like to see that.
