He can be awkward in person and on the screen, but he's a teen, who went from being a nobody in Hollywood to starring in like 3 straight films. He's trying to figure himself out, while trying to be like his father. At only 14, he's got time to turn into a legit movie star.

And he did it all by himself through sheer talent with no help what so ever.

man, that video is awesome and just kept getting better and better the deeper it went.

alfonso looks good. a bunch of good sports in that vid. funny seeing jaden has adopted his dad's charisma.

if that vid doesn't put a smile on your face, i don't know what will. thanks for sharing (although i guess i would have seen this next week since i actually dvr the graham norton show, believe it or not). repped.

That's not what i was trying to imply, if that's what you mean. My point was, he got thrown into the spotlight by his father, without having a chance to work himself up like other child stars/actors. They usually have smaller parts where they can carry less responsibility and learn from their mistakes in the shadows of the movie, and then eventually earn starring roles. Jaden was just thrown in there to sink or swim, front and center. It may have his benefits in the long run, like helping him develop the charisma that made will Smith so popular and wanted, but right now he's obviously showing he's got a lot to learn still.

Here's another short clip of the two. Smith makes fun of Jaden, but Jaden recovers...

Gotcha. I really don't think he'll ever develop the charisma that his dad has/had. Some things just come naturally. It reminds me of a saying "Practice always beats talent, until talent practices." Given time, I think he'll be a good actor, just not great. I could be wrong.

well, his dad is a good actor (at best), just not great. who cares? shows the power of charisma and personality.

give the kiddo a break. i respect him for the fact that he clearly loves his pops and doesn't care about living in his shadow.

Ha! I never realized that Heather Graham was Mercedes. It makes a lot of sense though because HG has always given me funny feelings down there.

Yeah, as much as i like Will Smith, I don't think he's a great actor. He's not even consistently good, he is only good in certain roles, like on his show. I still watch all his movies though.

I like Jaden. From what I've seen and heard the kid's a really diligent worker at his craft, taken huge steps as a young actor, and has way more "charisma" and maturity than most 14 year-olds I know. I understand it's fashionable to hate him because his dad dared to have a big influence in his career, but I just can't get with that. He's a cool kid

Just curious, but Jaden aside, why do you call it a "debacle"? It made good money, was well-received by audiences and critics alike (Hell, even the crotchety Nostalgia Critic liked it better that the first). Is it just a personal preference thing?

Will Smith clearly exhausting all of his contacts trying to promote his new film thus elevating his child's career in the process. I have no problem with Smith but he is as conniving as they come. He didn't do all of that just because it would be fun, he did it so it would get views, get people to like him more, and see his movie that has his son as a star.
