He is not that averse to it it seems.
    http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-news-dwight-howard-acknowledges-pick-roll-improvements/2013/02/21/
He has to realize that he's not good enough to be Shaq or Dream in the post. I said he is the best PnR big man statistically (someone posted it before) but it doesn't mean I don't want him to post up. Biggest problem is that he is not very good at dealing with the double team and kick out, doesn't make the team much better. He couldn't even abuse Bonner+help. He is still gonna post up but not as THE go-to move of the team. On the other hand if improves his post play dramatically then of course, fine.

If he indeed only wants to post up, not PnR and doesn't improve, well...what can I say, grow the F up? He'll have plenty of opportunity to dunk with our guards.

Yes, I meant Robinson will be traded for a Second Rounder on or before June 27 so Rockets can make cap space for this year and sign Dwight this year ;)

I seriously doubt Harden is going to hand his team over to Howard. If Howard comes, he takes the backseat.

Only as a last resort, if they can't find another way to free up the 3.5m or so to sign Dwight outright.

I'm still searching for the 3.5m. It just seems it should be Robinson out for zero back. How can we do that?

Ship off or cut Delfino, and or James Anderson, and or Tim Ohlbrecth... Maybe...

But I don't think he's coming to Houston anyway.

I thought Houston was still short about 3.5 million after waiving all non-guaranteed except parsons and beverley.

I'll have to do the numbers again.

Bill kind of forgot about Dwight's teammate Pau Gasol, who improved immensely after 27, posting seasons comparable to Dwight's peak, and had 4 exceptional seasons, aka the length of the maximum contract the Rockets could offer Dwight.

It really infuriates me that Bill even knows himself that a sign and trade benefits neither Dwight or the Rockets, yet he still is perpetuating this myth that the Lakers will be able to extract Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik in a sign and trade; this is something he's said on national TV, multiple columns and on Twitter. Morey wouldn't trade Parsons for James Harden, when his job was in jeopardy and he had no leverage. Now he's going to throw him away for no reason? Stop it man. If you're going to complain that every fan on the internet rips you as a hater when you post a terribad trade, at least do a smidgen of research to back it up...

Dwight should come here, for every single critic from LA complaining about him quitting, he would get twice as many praise from people who actually want to see players trying to succeed. Why stay in a bad situation in LA when he can compete for a championship here and train with two legendary guru's of big man play Hakeem and McHale?

Sound like Morey paid Bill Simmons to write this column in the hope of scaring off some competition.

Yup. Soured on D12 long ago.

Seems like an unnecessary gamble at this stage of the team's development. Before Harden, gambling on Dwight made sense. After Harden, no need to rock the boat when it's already on a great course.

Develop young talent, refine offense/defense schemes, and wait for Love.

Nope. Numbers don't lie. He's the best center in the NBA, he's done it throughout his career, and he'd be even more motivated to do it here. We've dealt with LeBron's drama, Kobe's drama, etc. None of that matters. If you get the chance to get Dwight Howard, you DON'T pass on it.

    absolutely agree.

i just dont get the fascination with howard. a perpetual malcontent black hole coach killer who cant shoot outside, cant shoot free throws, has an absolutely regressed post game. A man child more interested in having fun that winning ball games.

dhoward is on the way down not on the way up.

    Statistics will tell you that.
The eye test will tell you that.

the center position is not the problem. its the power forward and point guard spot.

As Morey said, "If you get a chance at that second star, you take it. It doesn't matter about doubling up on positions."

i was against howard signing before i read that article, now that i have read it, im petrified at the thought of spending money on a stock who is clearly on the way down.

big morey believer, the only way i can co sign a dhoward signing is if morey is signing him to be an asset for a possible trade for kevin love or another big time free agent in 2014.

What about Hakeem after the 1991-1992 season? Everyone thought he was on the decline, thought he was faking an injury, thought that his days in Houston were done. This might be another one of those situations.

Clearly Hakeem always was on a higher plane than Dwight, but the similarities are still there. Everyone is saying Dwight is now injury prone after the first real major injury of his career. People are even claiming he was faking it in Orlando with his back. Dwight is even younger than Olajuwon was going into his contract year, but he is just so much worse in terms of his skillset right now. Athletically though, being a big man, he gets the benefit of the doubt for having a career that could potentially peak much later, so long as his body can hold up.

pau gasol and dream were highly skilled players with offensive skills other than dunking. they dont rely solely on their athleticism.

this not the case with howard.

    horrible comparisons.
