Florida teen rejects plea deal in controversial same-sex case

Just because she is a girl shouldnt make it any less stern...the law is clear and an 18 year old isnt as clever as a 14 y/o...If it were a young 18 year old man...he would be in jail...there shouldnt be any double standard with a young 18 year female either...

 

i lost my virginity when i was 15 to a.....woman. Might be why i've been with mostly women in their 40's my whole life. But, i like it. I love MILFS and GILFS.

How do people find out about these things anyway? How hard is it to keep a relationship secret for a few years? You keep your mouth shut and be careful and no one will find out anything and an innocent person doesn't have to rot in prison for something you both wanted.

If Lynda Carter had a daughter who looked exactly like her, but was only 15 and im 29. I would totally build a relationship with her til she was of age to slap my face with those tig ol bitties. I think there are parts of Mexico where adults can have sex with girls of any of age as long as they have had their period and become a woman. Or 14 years old. Question. Why wouldn't it be wrong to be 18-40 year old man having sex with a 80-100 year old woman? while i think the punishment is too severe...an 18 year old mind is much more mature than a 14 year old...She should know and perhaps might just be the scapgoat...but she shouldnt be treated any differently than a young man at that same age would be...

 

Girls do mature faster. Brain wise and body wise.

 

I feel bad for this kid but I agree with this. This is a big mistake for her not to take the plea deal. We can argue the merits of the law but it is pretty clear in this case.

Regarding the gender and sexuality issues as someone who strongly supports gay marriage equality under the law does cut both ways. Just because this is about two girls in a lesbian relationship doesn't mean it should be considered differently.

Serious question...how can they prove that they actually had sex if this wasn't reported for a while? Or do they have to have DNA to have a case? Is it a witness credibility thing- like a he said she said, or what?

What happens if the 14 year old gets on the stand and claims they never did anything? The worst she would get is probation or juvy, more than likely, and it'd possibly set her girlfriend free...

I'm just saying. Fun legal system we have.

 

I think you're giving 18 year olds too much credit.

 

The Law has defined maturity and adulthood at the age of 18...while most 18 yo's dont make smart decisions...you should expect an 18 year old to make a better decision than one who is 14...its a reasonable expectation...and most courts see it that way...

14 is young and can be easily influenced, manipulated.

If this were a guy and girl, the guy would get the book thrown at him. There has to be a cutoff point for consent age. What age is okay for you?

The fact that she is trying to make it into some kind of fight for lesbians is a slap in the face to law abiding lesbians. I'm perhaps okay with lowering the age but sorry 18 on 14 is creeper city.

And "the law" could be wrong there. You still can't drink or buy weed legally at 21....or even rent a car. So much for adulthood and maturity. Parents wanted until the girl turned 18 to go forward with charges. thats messed up.
