I can agree with that, however, again, age and chemistry play into it. Gasol at 33 on a $19m expiring deal might not give you his full dedication, nor is there a guarantee that he stays healthy all season. On the flip side, Chandler Parsons at 24, working to earn his big contract is worth his weight in gold on this team with everyone he brings on the court. I'd say that if you were to compare roster to roster, the Lakers have more individual talent in all their years of experience, however the Rockets are better unit.

Honest opinion, who do you think is the better coach. D'Antoni or McHale?

I think Pau is a better player right now...but Parsons is utilized better... MDA ruins Paus value.

    Lin over Nash.

    40 years old
    9.3 million salary(vs. 8.3)
Nice to say "if healthy" but you can't ignore health. Hill, Nash leave Phoenix, both injured the majority of the year. Nash & Hill combined didn't play a full season.

Pau is still an all-star caliber player and I would love to have him as long as it didn't mean losing one of our core players.

Plus Nash will probably play 1 or 2 more seasons max which is something that also has to be considered.

A point guard can play into their early 40's... That shot never goes away... Your passing only gets better with age.

It depends on how they defend though. Is a PG that's as much of a defensive liability as Nash seems to be who you want playing in his 40's, in this era of PG's and the rules that benefit them?

But what doesn't get better with age is durability. Nash's inability to stay on the court this past season is a huge red flag. Given the rigors of an NBA season, you have to acknowledge the fact that at 39 years of age, Nash is hardly someone you can count on to give you 82 games plus an entire post-season.

Absolutely but that doesn't matter when you bump knees with another player and are out for 3-4 weeks.

Harden bumps knees with a guy, makes his free throws, and then gets back to work without missing a beat.

    Age is huge.

May I ask what team you are a fan of? Being so implicated into basketball there must be a team you root for?

It's certainly easier to mask a PGs defensive deficiencies with a Howard type anchor, but you're right that his play will eventually start to hurt the team. Plus Nash has a spattered history of injuries.

Would Nash even want to play after 1 to 2 years? Even if he has the ability, he might have just had enough of the NBA.

If you really think about it... Who can keep up with the amazing point guards of the league? The Westbrooks, the Irvings, the Pauls... No one - this is how one GM put it when talking about Nash. It was brought up about Nash's D as a liability to the quick PG's...

GM says, "Who can guard any of those guys anyways?"

Why do ESPN reporters and others keep talking about sign and trade with Dwight Howard? Aren't the Lakers not allowed to sign-and-trade with their team salary situation? So the only possible way Dwight will get his maximum salary is to stick with Lakers and demand a trade later.

    Bobcats... HA jk...

It's a business my friend. Lakers have been close to me and the Buss's are good to us. I wish them success because of how classy they've been and Dr. Buss rescued the NBA IMO.

    Thats a good point.

Anyway, hate to rail off the discussion here, but I have a question.

Will the Rockets stop at Dwight, or is CP3 still in their plans too. We know its HIGHLY unlikely, but what are the Rockets up too?

Sounds like you're making a pitch for Dwight to stay in LA.

    Shame on you.
