So just to clarify all this: The GSW interest is fake, and concocted by Dwight's team to "catch" the person who they suspected of leaking the true interest in Houston?

So is this in direct correlation with Dwight (and I'm sure other clients) wanting to break into Hollywood?? Happy Walters is a well-known agent for entertainers if I am not mistaken.

Haha, seems like it. It sounds like Dwight has been watching too many Sopranos episodes on DVD, and decided to try and catch a mole like they would in the Old Country.

Cyber, I love your insider information but this is the first time something you have said has made ecstatic.

Well at least we know the Houston info is legit. Cybrex, from what Rudolph says, the Lakers are pushing Dwight to stay or risk ruining his reputation. if this is really happening why is Dwight acting like the rumors of his interest aren't real? Why even respond to people on twitter if his interest is real?

I'd still slow down on that. Remember, at the end of the day, if Phil Jackson comes swooping into the picture in Los Angeles like cyber reported yesterday, then I think we can kiss our dreams of seeing Dwight in Rockets Red out the window.

Told us about this fake GSW rumor and that his interest in Houston is real. If Dwight is willing to plant fake information to find out who was leaking his interest in the Rockets, I truly think that we have become his first choice.

I never have said the Rockets have the upper hand, don't get too excited guys...

    But the interest is REAL.

I think the underlying feeling here is that Dwight is simply using Houston as leverage to get the Lakers to cave into his demands (i.e. removing MDA, bringing in Jackson, etc). The fact that the Warriors rumor was floated today only cemented that fact, because then it became PAINFULLY clear that he was just using these teams as negotiating points with the Lakers.

Now, to find out that the Warriors rumor was NOT true, and the Houston is NOT being used as leverage because his interest is sincere is refreshing to hear.

Well, I'm glad I was wrong.

I still believe the Lakers are the frontrunner (not sure how), but its good to hear that the Rockets are getting attention from a star.

I don't know if LAL would agree to either, mainly because of The Cat's reasons at the top of this page.

But assuming they did, let us work with the Bogut/Barnes scenario, just because it would take less guesswork. Also, if we looked at the Lee/Barnes option, he'd have to stick through a crappier team in 2013 before waiting for the 2014 savior date. He kinda already gets that with LAL lol. Also, it always seems a bit arbitrary to me for people to discount 2013, bank on 2014, then discount 2015. Can't I say we would have a much better 2013 team and flexibility in 2015? Only Harden guaranteed on the books then! Just saying, a tad arbitrary.

    So looking at Bogut/Barnes deal:
    Curry/Klay/Dwight/Ezeli/Draymond in 2014 + $7M (mostly used on a bench I presume) vs. Lin/Harden/Dwight/Parsons/DMo/TJones/Asik (or whoever we get for him...Josh Smith?)/Bev/GSmith in 2014?

Seems like a no brainer to me tbh.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Dwight to keep his mouth shut if he knew somebody he was giving information to was sharing it to the public? Why does he have to play cat-and-mouse and create more headline news in the process? It seems like a very immature thing to do to lie about interest in a team, getting fans hopes up for no reason. I really don't expect anything less from Dwight, though. He doesn't appear to be the smartest guy around.

cyberx, Dwight has been denying all the Houston/Free Agency rumors on Twitter to concerned Laker fans on Twitter. You're implying his inner-circle knows about his decisions though and the interest in Houston is real. Is Dwight denying all the rumors that he apparently started, or are news sources legitimately making up BS about his future?

Yeah, to me it still sounds like he's doing his due diligence where the Lakers are concerned. I'm wondering if Fegan has concocted a plan to see just how far the Lakers are really willing to go, and see if they can get them to cave on the coaching position. Until they find out where Jim Buss stands on all of that, and what he's willing and unwilling to do, I don't think we will have a fair understanding of what the Lakers are going to look like in the near future. On the other hand, the Rockets' situation is very transparent. The offer is on the table, as well as the coaching staff and the roster. Dwight would literally plug right in. So, really, it's all in LA's court as far as what Dwight's decision will be. Is that a fair assessment at this point?

He doesn't want the bad publicity, another season of Dwightmare. No leaks, no media frenzy.

You can probably stop wasting brain cells on the Warriors situation. It was a farce. Haha. ;)
