All this treating-people-with-respect crap sure is annoying, right?

some of you guys are just straight disrespectful.

in this day and age, when people like you come in hoards and judge her 24/7...she is using that as more motivation to continue what she is doing to prove a point.

she is showing that people should be judged on their actions, not their looks.

i guarantee that she is a better US citizen, human, and will contribute more to mankind than all you guys talking about her disrespectfully on clutchfans. especially that guy calling her religion dumb, or the other idiot talking about her privates.

might i remind you all that only 60-70 yrs ago most American women probably didn't shave their armpits or their privates?

Making an aesthetic judgment about someone is not an indictment or endorsement of their character.

People using that as a way to bash her culture is an indictment on THEIR character though.

Hygiene and maintaining functionality with her hands. Same with bathing and brushing teeth. Her hair does not affect her hygiene or the way she lives.

I'm not sure, but I think Sikhs are allowed to alter things that probably cause uncleanliness (like cutting long nails and taking showers).

Having long nails can interfere with some normal activities like writing and eating. And if an accident happens and the nails break, that's painful.

That's probably right. I think it started in the late 40's-early 50's. Don't believe shaving underarms and legs was a big deal during the Depression and WWII. During the rise of modern advertising and the post-war boom, it took off.

And most chicks didn't start shaving the nether regions until the 90's.

Hmmm. Looking at Google, I was wrong. Women started shaving their underarm hair in the 1910-1930 range as it became more acceptable to wear sleeveless dresses and the razor companies and Harpers began talking about unsightly underarm hair. Legs came in the WWII timeframe.

People are judged heavily on their looks...just go check out the best ass or best boobs thread. Just because she is growing hair due to her religion doesn't mean we can not comment on it right? Just think about how much **** Sara Jessica Parker gets or fat girls or any other "ugly" girl, do you standup as much for comments against them as you do for comments against this girl?

Even saying all that, its kinda amazing to see a young girl standup for herself and fight social norms.

Is it just me or did the original poster's reply seem entirely fake?
That's the thing I hate about reddit. The Karma system over there encourages you to make thoughtful, or at least funny posts otherwise you risk getting downvoted.

But it also encourages over the top, nonsensically fake reactions simply to regain lost karma.

Its the Clutchfans equivalent of repwhoring. Its fake and I hate it.
