We all know what the wizard Morey can do for us..like when we're after re-signing Dragic, he duped us and DM quickly went to JLin...we failed to trade for DH12 and he got us Harden...what do you think is his major backup move if he failed again in acquiring DH12?

    Pau Gasol

You get an immediate upgrade for one year and then try again next year when he comes off the cap.

I just can't see Morey settling for second tier talent tying up the cap like Jefferson or Millsap

Gasol would be a terrible fit next to Asik though. Both need to be near the basket....

He "duped" us because Dragic wanted four years, Morey only wanted to give a three year contract because he values flexibility.

Gasol would be a great one year rental. He can shoot, post up, pass very well, rebound.

It would probably take a Thomas Robinson or Dmo to get a package together

I think his back-up plan is Josh Smith.

This is not true. Gasol is great in the high post as well as in the low block.

Sit on the capspace and prepare for 2014.

Morey even said this team as of last season could expect a 5 game improvement based on chemisty and maturity so he'll just let the players develop and that will ripen his assets even more.

He'll just wait for the next superstar to become available. Gasol is intriguing because he comes off the books next year, so maybe a move like that.

I really believe it would be Gasol first then Smith.

Is Blair restricted or free agent?

    Either Gasol...or do nothing.

    Asik/Gasol/Parsons/Harden is very..very good.

My answer to this has been on my signature for quite a while now. No need to use that cap space and settle for 2nd tier players and lose that flexibility that all teams covet especially with the new CBA.

Pau Gasol will make the team much more competitive next season and won't hurt our team cap-wise. If we don't sign Dwight or CP3 this off-season, we have to be major bidders still in the summer of 2014 and so on.

This, this, this, and, this. Either we get Dwight Howard for 4 years or Pau Gasol for 1 year. Book it.

I've said over and over again that moving Asik for Cousins would be a great move. Cousins is very immature but is also very talented. A change in scenery and not having the pressure of being the man would probably be good for the kid. Also his contract is not up until next year so the Rockets could ideally still have money next season to resign him as well as a top free agent. I may be incorrect about the money availability next year. Capologist help me.

No need for a capologist. It's a pipe dream and unless the Rockets are giving them Asik AND Parsons the conversation doesn't even start.

I wouldn't be opposed to moving Parson along with the deal. I know he's beloved here beyond measure, and I like him too. But the reality is the Rox need a low post presence and Cousins provides that. You have to give something to get something. Maybe Sac throws in the 7th pick as well! Morey has reamed them before!

For the Lakers to trade Pau, they are going want back some serious "assets". I don't see DM making that trade unless Pau agrees to a multiyear extension.
