interesting. so is it like a board game version of civilization or is it more like a turn based tropico (for those who have played that game)
WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING ME? IT MAKES NO SENSE. Fist strikes board sending little colored pieces of wood all over the room. Good times.
Does this website have any safeguards against cheaters? I remember playing on an online Java based risk program years ago where your rating was kept track of like chess, but people would try to take as long as they could or stall every turn to bore you and make you quit the game out of boredom or team up with their friends to beat you to get higher ratings for them.
i am in four games currently, but i think you should post game links here so we can get into games when there are openings
That sounds like fun. I play Catan more than anything though which is insane with being luck-based. Definitely will give it a look.
All moves are based on treaties between the players. Then everyone moves at the same time. In a battle, the player with the most units always wins.
Any where online to play it? Also tried to join a real time game on Major Command and can't because of my rank apparently.
http://www.playdiplomacy.com/ But I've never joined, so can't speak to how well it works. You really need to get on the phone to other players or at least chat live to do your treaty phase of the moves. Diplomatic Persuasion is critical to winning the game. Henry Kissinger loved to play it.
It's really annoying that you can't quit a game, as I already joined a game by mistake and I can't play another real-time game for another 24 hours. The server is really slow too.
Well 1-0 in this game real-time. To be honest I could have won a turn before but it said if I crossed a certain border it would be bad or something. Anyways, that game is pretty good; reminds me a lot of risk on my old phone. I'd be down to play a real-time game with people here sometime if there was any way we all had time for it.
