first, discounting anyone who came to the NBA from a league merger (Miken and Erving come to mind), I do not know the answer to this.

Depending on the answer, do you think Mobley has a chance to become the answer to this trivia question?

    Hint 1: 1951.
    Hint 2: New York Knicks.
    Hint 3: Sixth round.
    Hint 4: From St. John's.
Hint 5: Don't smack me. [IMG]
    Hint 6: 8e8r8i8u8g8c8m8l8a8.

...does Mobley have a chance to be in the HOF? IMHO, he'd need to improve significantly and/or get a bunch of rings, but it's not out of the question.

I'd have to say Cousy. I'm pretty sure he was a second rounder and Auerbach got criticized for drafting him.

I'll take a flyer on this: Randy Smith. I'm not sure if he's in the HOF, but he was a helluva player. I believe that he was undrafted.... when it mean something-- when they went 7 or 9 rounds.

WEll i'd have to say Al Mcguire, NY picked him in the early 50's in like the 6th round, although at that time there were only about 8 picks a round

How low did Calvin go? I know he was shooting the lights out at Niagra, but I thought he went fairly low.

    Anybody?

    Anybody?

    Duh!

I feel like Homer Simpson when he gets that blank look on his face and you wonder if there is any brainwave at all.

How did I miss those? Probably watching the early, early news.

Jeff Hornacek was selected late in the second round of the 1986 NBA draft, is he a candidate to be in the Hall-of-Fame?

Houston Rockets guard/forward Shandon Anderson, who was picked by the Utah Jazz with the 54th pick of the 1996 NBA draft, can be a Hall-of-Famer if he continues to improve each NBA season.

    DJ,

it is against nba policy to be elected into the hall of fame & the hall of shameful game. shandn's a virtual shoo-in for the HOSG. no way he doesn't make it, what with the way he chunks up bricks. i sincerely believe he built more houses than fannie mae, sallie mae and HUD put together.

1st ballot HOSG-er. you heard it here first. [IMG]

I don't think Hornachek will be in the hall of fame. He's too ugly.

Pretty sure it was Drazen. Drazen Petrović was drafted 60th overall to the Trail Blazers in the 1986 draft. Though he didn't play for Portland until 1989 as he was still playing in Spain.

Actually, it might be Krešimir Ćosić from Yugoslavia. Drafted in 1973 by the Los Angeles Lakers 84th overall.
