DH did nothing, said nothing and decided nothing. It was all the media guys, twitter heads and bored fans are making everything out of nothing.

Thats not true at all. Maybe from a contract standpoint but he'll lose tons of endorsement money from turning down playing in a big market

It would be sort of ironic if DH stays in LA. The reason he gave for being unhappy in Orlando was that he wanted to win. He left after the Magic were unable to assemble a suitable supporting cast.

Now — if he stays in LA, doesn't it seem a bit disingenuous? I mean, if he really wants to craft his legacy as a winner, does the situation there look promising? The more closely you analyze the situation there, the less likely it look that LA will be able to rebuild any time soon. At best they may be able to build a team that compares to the team DH left behind in Orlando. LA will always have appeal to free agents, but it is difficult to see how they make significant progress in the coming years. A close breakdown of the great 2014 free agent class has shown itself to be less favorable to the Lakers that what many imagine.

So if he stays in LA, what is it really about? The Rockets offer a great start to building a championship roster. The Lakers offer . . . a bit more money, more visibility, but more winning?

Is DH is truly about what he claimed to be about during his exit from Orlando, would he now opt for LA?

I doubt his real reason for wanting to leave Orlando is to "win". Seems to me he just wanted to goto one of those glamor big market cities. If winning was his #1 priority, why would the Nets be his 1st choice?

Unlike the fan, winning a championship is probably not the universal #1 priority for the players. Some players are ultra competitive that values winning immensely, I just don't see Howard as one of them. Some players value money and having fun more than a championship (to be honest, I don't blame them. Considering their spending habits, what's more important 10 years after their retirement? having a ring or having a couple million more?)

Pretty obvious Dwight wanted to leave Orlando because he lost faith in the organization. If he was winning there, he'd be just like Durant is. He wanted out and wanted to team up with another star. Brooklyn was the perfect situation for him, big market included, but I wouldn't say that it means that he values a huge media market over other factors like winning or front office competence.

Not saying to "win" was is real reason. I am saying it was his stated reason. My point was that his decision between LA and Houston might reveal whether his stated reason and real reason were truly one in in the same, as he would no doubt want you to believe.

Pretty sure Dwight is not eligible for a NTC.

He can be a movie star from Houston. Ever heard of the off-season and private jets. Ask Durant.

You mean all $2.4m he earned this past season in endorsements in LA?? I think he'll find a way to make up for that in Houston.

Anyone can be a movie star anywhere. He's more likely sticking LA if he wants to land multiple roles. He'd be favored by actors jack Nicolas and co to help get him what he wants. Models parties high life is all there. I'm sure that's what he wants more than playing in houson

Nah. I just have to disagree. I think he can party during the off-season. Anyway, Houston is not that boring. He wants to win and he will go to Houston. If he want to lose and remain a loser, he will stay in LA.

This article has nothing to do with Dwight, Amick is just leveraging Dwight to criticise D'antoni.
