Meh, i'll probably think about buying a new machine in 3-4 years -- the PS3 is really just peaking right now.
Paying for used games has been in the works for a while now...its nothing new. Im pretty sure Sony will implement it too at some point. It's a fight against the Gamestops of the world. Im pretty stoked about the Xbox...will definitely have it in my house as soon as I can get my hands on One.
Not likely, unless that's a subsidized price. Keep in mind Kinect built in, among other things. $399-$499 seems like a good guess. There was a rumor a while back about this. I think the 2nd Xbox was just a mini-360 with some of the TV functionality. Or something along those lines. Think I saw a more recent rumors that said they cancelled it (or delayed it). I might be remembering wrong, but I think Sony already commented on this, and didn't really sound like they would do anything about it. If a publisher wants to implement something on their own though (and I guess they could), they might allow that. Though maybe I'm getting that confused with their stance on always online... To be honest, I think it would be better to just deal with it for another generation or so, and just push digital downloads. I think gamers will slowly transition that way anyway, and it would more or less solve the problem I think. I think I linked to this earlier, but the NeoGAF thread kind of summarized things: I know there's been some other stuff to come out after the event, although things still seem confusing. I know this happens all the time with these kind of things, although I swear MS seems worse about making things confusing relative to other companies. Sounds like the always-online and no used game stuff was true, at least to some degree. Not quite as bad as rumored, but I'm not a fan. Just seems unnecessary. Sounds like hardware specs match leaked specs. Guess MS couldn't prevent leaks there (surprise!). Sounds like OS requirements are true too (3GB dedicated to OS), giving PS4 a ~2GB advantage in RAM (and better RAM at that) available to gamers (unless Sony decides to up OS requirements...which they could still do). Sounds like a decent amount, although I don't know how big a deal it will really be, especially in multiplatform games (devs aren't getting to work hard to get better textures to go in the PS4 version). Probably just something like higher resolution games on PS4 (1080p vs almost 1080p....or 1080p + AA vs 1080p + no AA). OS does look really nice though (definitely putting those system resources to work). The TV stuff is really nice, although I admit, as long as MS still charges to use something like Netflix, I'm not going to get a Xbox as my "all-in-one" device. Get rid of those barriers, and I'll be more interested in Xbox One as an entertainment device. Should be interesting to see how other players respond. Good stuff either way. Games shown didn't really seem like much. Bleh at EA. CoD next-gen didn't really look that great (plus it is CoD...so *yawn*). Remedy's game caught me interest somewhat, although not much of a game to look at. But MS did sound like they're putting in a lot of resources into games, and especially new IPs. As I mentioned before, this seemed focused on the box and their entertainment plan. Hopefully see more games at E3. Maybe more indie love too. While Sony went all out there, MS didn't really seem to recognize indies much here (and apparently there is some backlash going on for that). Controller seems nice. Sounded like they had something similar to PS4's share feature? Vibration feedback in triggers could lead to some cool stuff. Some huge improvements with Kinect (really cool stuff, like heartbeat recognition), although I still remain skeptical on its uses in games and some specific applications. The box looks like a box, and the name is just a name. Can't say I really care for either that much, but they don't really matter too much. The box does seem a bit big, but I think PS4 might be too. I'm sad I can't say XB1/Xbox 1 anymore (yeah, maybe I didn't ever say it that often). Saw something about every game having dedicated servers. That could be really nice! Actually worth paying for perhaps (unlike previous iterations of XBL IMO). Need more info. Overall, I guess it just depends on what you were expecting. Hardcore gamers are likely really disappointed (I'd probably put myself in that category). Already seeing lots of backlash there, but as expected I suppose. But if you were interested in more than just games (or not even games), some cool stuff there. Sounds pretty limiting and annoying so far. The fact that I've been having some internet issues with Comcast the past day and a half only makes me dislike "sort-of-always-online" more. Will probably stick with this gen for a while until several must-buys come out exclusively for PS4/One
I'm not talking only about having a media center. A PC with a media center that can also play some of the latest games with decent settings. Actually videos are all CPU computing power. I'm talking about building a PC that can easily compete and exceed a consoles if you don't care about certain games, compete or co-op with someone with a split screen.
I'm going to get an Xbox One..... Its freaking awesome.... Its funny thou how I see people crying about stupid things..... Dont want to pay for xbox live? fine, get a nintendo wii..... Dont want to pay for used games? Dont pay for used games.... Dont want to pay for new games? Just download them on PC and shut the hell up..... Everyone finds something to cry about, if you hate xbox or microsoft then thats fine... Go and buy your PS4 and enjoy that..... I have high end gaming/production PC..... Does that mean I wont get a Xbox ONE, NO!!!!!!! Just means I will be able to play games on my One and my PC.... I'm exited..... Cant wait for the new system in my living room....
I mean the Kinect is cool but it's missing this. This would definitely be a game changer if they had like a motion capture points that can easily incorporate into games. Seriously why aren't they doing this? The Kinect is so limited because it doesn't have a proper 3D tracking points.
Serious? Because it takes special equipment/cameras/motion trackers all around the tracking points.... In order for this to work the whole living room would need these motion trackers on on the ceiling.... Now think about how close the Kinect is to pulling it off minus all of that.... Impressive if you ask me...
Well lets be honest.... PC games are easy to pirate and or alot cheaper than console games... If someone does not want pay for content than the only option is to Pirate wich is pretty easy on a PC....
Don't be r****ded. Just because some people preferred PC over consoles doesn't make them a pirate. Maybe it because PC graphics are superior to consoles. More games and better games. Can't say enough about MODS and the community supports. Better control with the keyboard and mouse for more serious gaming. And so much more people can do with a PC than with a limited/restricted option with a consoles.
It be amazing.... But lets wait and see how the new kinect on the One works... It may just be that much more accurate...
Hold on, chill.... If you think that PC gaming is in no way associated to pirating than this argument is over because its pointless. Pirating content and games is a million times easier on PC than console... And if you are gonna sit there and tell me its because of the graphics and hack mods alone then clearly you are just lost. Not saying every PC gamer pirates, I'm saying that if someone does not want to pay for content then PC is the only way. I have a 360 and play on PC 98% of the time and 2% on the xbox. NBA 2k13 was way cheaper on PC and with an xbox controller I found no reason to pay full price for 360 game... Does not mean I wont get a ONE thou.... Chill....
