I don't know why people overreact so much after each and every playoff game. Parker is going to have to be slowed down though for the Grizz to have a chance. The Grizz definitely have the ability to slow Parker down. I think this is a 7 game series that the Grizz end up winning.
Because they didn't know whether the Grizzlies would finish the Knicks on Saturday. If a game 7 was needed, it would be on Monday.
The Grizz had better step their game up because this grit and grind business isn't going to work unless they fix their defense. These Spurs aren't the Griffin-less Clippers or Westbrook-less Thunder. It'd truly be sad if it turns out that GSW was the staunchest challenge to the Spurs' Finals' bid.
A lot of people thought that since Memphis upset them two years ago, that they'd be able to beat them again. Only this spurs is very different, 3 different starters (Green, Leonard, Splitter), all providing good matchups for what Memphis are throwing at them, heck the Spurs didn't even post up Duncan once.
Yes, this board is notorious for that. Especially when the Heat lose a game. IT'S JUST ONE GAME GUYS IT PRETTY MUCH MEANS NOTHING.
The biggest thing for Memphis is (from the first game).... Losing Shane Battier. Without that 3 point threat and replacing him with Tay Prince they now have 2 players on the perimeter who are absolutely hopeless when confronted with a jump shot. They are completely disrespected. Tay Prince and Tony Allen are a huge reason as to why Z-Bo was shut down.
How is spurs worse and older than they were in 2011? exactly who is old on spurs beside duncan and manu? spurs had improved so much since than. let me tell u the improvements: pg: tony parker is better than ever. i know they dont have george hill now, but he isnt important. sg: danny green plays much better defense than both gary neal and manu did. i know manu lost a step, but spurs have so many guard options this year. sf: seriously? you are going to compare richard jefferson and kawhi leonard? next pf: duncan is duncan and now they signed boris diaw.(in 2011, there was literally no one to back up duncan.) c: tiago splitter or diaw>mcdyess. i know memphis improved too, because they dont have rudy gay anymore. who is the better team now? we will see.
how about zbo was exposed? even i know zbo never pass like melo, im sure other coaches, especially smart ones, know that too
People throw the exposed word around to much these days. Too early in the series to announce he's been exposed especially when he has been good the 1st 2 rounds and he also had success against San Antonio the last time they played in the playoffs.
Who didn't expect SA to win game 1? ZBo was shut out, and there's no doubt there will be some adjustments. Although i was disappointed in how the Grizz were just flat to start, expecting the Spurs to act old.
How the hell is ZBo exposed? They couldn't even get him the ball. And when he did, the spacing was horrific.
lol Spurs get younger as time goes on? And George Hill not being important? Tell the Pacers that. Memphis improved, not just because of the addition by subtraction, but because Gasol is infinitely a better player now than he was, when the Grizz played the Spurs last.
yes, u are right, the team is older, but the players are younger. George hill wasnt important to the spurs in 2011, and i never said he isnt important to any team in 2013. and why couldnt he? because he was fronted. tell me how thats not exposed?
Grizzles arent going to win with the worst offensive players starting in Prince and Allen. You can literally just let these guys open and double Gasol/Randolph.
Ugh...what an ugly game so far. This is a bore fest, I don't want to see this crap in the finals. I don't really care for either team but I'm rooting even harder for the Spurs now because the Grizzlies brand of ball sucks the excitement out of any game.
