http://dailythunder.com/2013/05/kevin-durant-donates-1-million-to-disaster-relief/ Per the Red Cross, Kevin Durant has given a $1 million donation to the disaster relief fund. “The Red Cross relies on its donors to perform its mission in relieving human suffering following disasters,” said Janienne Bella, regional CEO in a release. “Mr. Durant’s gift and support to Oklahoma comes at a time of great need and we’re forever thankful for his generosity.” Yesterday Durant tweeted, “Praying for the victims of the Tornadoes in OKC these last few days..Everybody stay safe!” Here’s the thing about Durant’s donation: It’s almost not news. Because it’s the least surprising thing ever. We’re so lucky to have him playing basketball in our city. Primary Thunder sponsor Chesapeake Energy made a $1 million cash donation yesterday also.
I think he'll be in OKC his entire career. Unless they do something terribly wrong. He built this franchise.
Even more refreshing is that fact that KD did not announce the donation or try to use it as a publicity bump. The red cross is the organization who actually announced he made the donation. Awesome.
that was good deed from KD...he'll make that money back and more with 1 new commerical posters saying KD is the nicest guy in the NBA....obviously they are forgetting guys like Ginobli, Scola, the Gasols, shane battier, grant hill, jeremy Lin, etc... so many more REAL nice guys in the NBA than durant
Chesapeake Energy are the cheap asses. Pretty sure that company makes more money than Kevin Durant lol.
I mean I don't really hate KD... Perkins I really do hate he's just evil. KD I just don't like on the court against but he seems like a cool guy to hang out with. Kind of the same feeling like having Harden around at the strip club.
Lol I'm sure KD isn't the nicest, certainly him being the most popular helps him get that moniker, but he still seems to be a really good person.
Great gesture with all the right intentions by KD. Its great much needed money is going to those who really need it. KD already pays millions upon millions in taxes, I'm sure his accountant will get him much of this donation to goodwill back as tax deductible. Either way better the money goes to the victims rather than federal income tax.
