Duncan can do what he can do because of his skill set, that has nothing to do with the team around him.

Tyson Chandler...Lol.. Dallas wasn't paying him $22 million a year and the offense ran through Dirk.

    Nothing new but...

    (From Broussard: )

Houston would be a great basketball move. Part of me says you need to sign with the Lakers and take responsibility. Stop trying to find the right fit. You be the reason you make your team a contender. Don't blame the coach, don't blame teammates, say I'm good enough, I'm gonna make us a contender.

What do you think he does?

I think it's between LA and Houston. (He'll take his visits to Atlanta, Houston, Dallas) I can't blame Dwight if he left for Houston. Maybe McHale can help in the post, Harden, Parsons, Beverley, Lin, they'd be instant contenders next year.

Because that worked so well for LeBron in Cleveland and Durant in OKC over the past month...

Just tell it like it is, Chris: you want the Lakers relevant, just like everyone else in the national media.

I get what Broussard is saying...but his team just sucks. Flat out.

All the decent members are a year or two from retiring and the other players just suck. There is only so much a player can do...and only Lebron and his otherworldly skills could make that team a contender.

Yeap, another pick & roll big man that has an offensive skill set away from the basket.

    Duncan
    Bosh
    Dirk
    Gasol
    Wallace

Teams won championships with those guys and they can all play away from the basket and or have a legitimate back to the basket game which Howard does not. And if we get Howard, we will have the same problem the Clippers have come playoffs with their big men...

I liked the end of that video the most. 'How good could they be?", everyone starts nodding their heads in agreement. "They will be a factor".

Multiple sources have told me DUH-WHITE led his own team to the finals over LUH-BRON.

    Phil Jackson's take:

If you were coaching right now, what are you doing?

You have to play into Dwight Howard. You have to get back and re-establish him as the center he potentially was going to be. This year, I don't know, 4-5 less touches, most were on the move. That's not Mike's style. I don't blame Mike for that. That's the ownership or management decision. Now that it's the critical time, is Dwight gonna stay or leave? Are we gonna use him in the best possible form and support him...

Do you think he's gonna stay?

Would you? If you felt like you're game wasn't gonna be featured?

    ...

He's gotta be they keystone of what that team's future is about.

Is he gonna win a title with that lineup?

I don't know about that. They can't run. They gotta be in the half-court where they pound the ball and slow it down. But you also have to play defense. Then it becomes a priority to have defensive players at certain positions.

Has anyone heard yet that staying in LA is a great move for him? :p

Haha, nope. At this point, just based of off all the reports and rumors that we have heard, I would say Dwight being a Rocket is a very real possibility. I can't think of any positives for him to stay in LA...

The only positives I've heard about staying in LA is 1. Money and 2. Legacy

When it comes to basketball reasons (heh), Houston is the best option. Anyone who tells you otherwise is delusional.

Yes, he will get more money in LA, but its already been mentioned Texas has no income tax, no millionaire tax. His endorsements actually DECREASED when he went to LA from Orlando. He comes to Houston, he'll instantly be popular again thanks to the Lin-effect as well as being Harden's P-i-C. They WILL be in all-star games together, even as soon as next season depending on Kobe.

As far as legacy goes, people love to forget Houston has a legacy of big-men too. Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Ralph Sampson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Yao Ming. That's not a list to ignore.

It all comes down to what makes Howard happy, and from what I can tell, he wants to win. Houston is where he can win. And winning nets you money and creates a legacy of your own.

Not exactly. If they are 4M over the taxline they cant receive a SnT player.

I'm not convinced that Bryant will even see the floor before the AS game, so I dont see how that is even possible. The dude is in his mid-30s with a completely torn archilles....you dont bounce back from that like nothing happened...trust me, Im old too and injuries take longer to heal from....especially so for athletes.

If Kobe pushes it back by AS break, he could very well be pushing his body to the point of capitulation and a serious career-ending injury. It's the Achilles. He'll be fortunate to be back with 25 games left and he'll be scurrying around flat-footed with no lift.

It's just not gonna work in LA. What the Lakers should do is amnesty Kobe, let him have the whole year to rehab, they should trade Gasol/Artest/Nash for air, then make a serious play for both Dwight and Paul, go to the lottery one season, then come back strong in 14/15 with Dwight/Paul/Kobe/lottery pick/whoever else they sign in free agency. However LA is running right now on a serious case of the stupids. Jim Buss is more concerned with establishing himself as the boss than he is with continuing a winning legacy. He may eventually become great but I doubt it and if he does it sure ain't happening in the next 12 months. But don't tell the Lakers. Let them continue running on the stupids.

Thanks to all that answered this question for me...Tyson Chandler would have been my first response.

I can guarantee you this much. If you make the statement you just made. I am not trying to be mean or rude. But you do not know basketball or have not watched howard play.

He is one of the best finishers in NBA history. He can play face up by setting up a quick move to the basket, or face up then turn back with his back to the basket and set up either a hook or an off the glass shot. Or just take it straight to the rim.

He is absolutely a beast on the post. Like compared to all the other names listed in that area he is way better. Even though he may not have a 12-15 foot jump shot like the ones you mention. It doesnt matter...because everything else he does well over compensates for that.

But in reference to your comment on the PNR... He is such a better finisher in the PNR then anyone else, his jump shot is not even remotely an issue.

Because if there is a jump shot to be made it will be harden not howard....period. Howard either finishes at the rem or passes the ball back to harden to take advantage of the collapsed defense and take a jump shot or take the ball to the hoop.

Harden will destroy defenses when they sag off to collapse on howard.

I am telling you ... i know basketball..most people here do too. If Harden and Howard are running a PNR that is a nightmare to defend. More often then not one of them is going to get an easy shot as a result.

Howard is just using Houston for his own leverage and entertainment.

I said 'depending on Kobe' because he will no doubt be voted into the starting lineup just on name-value only, even if he's severely declined.

    I hate posts like these.

    How do you know?
What is he trying to leverage?
What do you mean for his own "entertainment"?

Users throw baseless statements around all the time but NEVER elaborate.
