Would this be plausible if the Hawks didn't have to give up anyone?

    Paul
    Lou Williams
    Smith
    Horford
    Howard

Would be the best starting 5 in the league.

Or, they could join in Houston with an even better star than Josh Smith.

    Paul
    Harden
    Parsons
    Jones
    Howard

Could happen. Atlanta is a good city, they just need a makeover of their franchise.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened. Horford is a stud and if they get Howard to pair with him, it could be a force. plus CP3 will have 2 dynamic big men to feed.

Hey or Lebron James could Join Houston next year.

I mean Lebron did give Harden a lot of props. He declared he was a great player and a superstar. So Houston could save it's cap this year and make a run at Lebron.

    It could happen

Sorry GreatOne, CP3 got Del Negro fired in Clipperland, so looks like he's staying put. I know how much you love trolling the Houston boards with your anti-Rockets/anti-Houston sentiment, but Dwight and Paul probably aren't going to team up.

And him coming to Houston isn't speculation? How yall gonna hate on someone posting an article about Dwight just cuz it doesnt say coming to houston. This has as much merit as cyberx's insider. None. No one knows where Dwight is going except maybe Dwight, and I doubt he has made up his mind. And he certainly hasn't told anyone.

Just to put things in perspective for those wondering how the Hawks could get this done-

(Assuming the cap is at 58 million and the lux tax is at 70 Million next year)

The Hawks have only 3 players under contract for next year -

    Horford - 12Mil
    L. Williams - 5.25
    Jenkins - 1.25

    Thats 18.5 in salary

July 1st comes & Dwight & CP3 both agree to sign in Atlanta-

    Howard - 19 Mil (Estimate)
    CP3- 22 Mil (Estimate)

Then Josh Smith???- 10 Mil (Estimate)

That's almost 70 Million in salary for 6 players. Even if you filled up the rest of the roster with vet min salaries, you are looking at roughly another 10 to 12 million dollars added to their roster at least.

Im not saying Atlanta WOULDN'T put together this team if its an option(I think they would), but just wanted to note that they would be flirting with Brooklyn Nets(Russian Billionaire) money with this team.

Note that even though they aren't that far over the lux tax in comparison to say this years Laker team, the repeater tax would really kill this team in year 3 or 4 of Howard/CP3/Smith/Horford's contracts which they would certainly be paying given they all sign longer than 3 years.

For those of you, that still think Atlanta wouldn't care about this repeater tax, here is a clip from an article written by SB Nations Tom Ziller who explains it about as clear as anyone else I've seen-

How bad is the repeater tax? At the first level of luxury tax -- up to $5 million over the threshold -- the base tax will be $1.50 for every dollar over the line. The repeater tax is $2.50 for every dollar over the line. It matches as you rise up the ladder from there -- the repeater tax is always $1 per dollar in exceedance of the threshold more than the base rate. For $20 million over the threshold, that's a $20 million difference based on whether you're a repeater or not.

Here's an example. Let's assume the luxury tax threshold rises to $75 million by 2014-15. Let's say a team like the Lakers has a payroll of $95 million -- $20 million over the threshold. If they were not repeater, their total tax payment would be $45 million, and their total payroll would be $140 million. If they were a repeater, their total tax payment would be $65 million, and their total payroll would be $160 million.

Not sure if that's exactly what the Hawks ownership wants to deal with two years down the road. Paying somewhere between 30 and 60 million each year in Lux Tax.... and that's assuming they are JUST bringing in miniumum contracts behind their starting 5.

someone is still butthurt about being tempbanned for being a douche in cyberx's thread

A real news source/real journalist have said Howard is viewing Houston in a good way, backing up what cyberx said versus some random guy on a Lakers-centered blog speculating that Howard and Paul will team up in Atlanta just because ATL can clear space.

Yeah, which one has more credibility here?
