[Feigen] Bobcats ask for permission to interview Kelvin Sampson

Then I hope we get Mike Malone. I like Pop's style a lot, both defensively and offensively. Hopefully he's got some Pop in him. I like McHale but I don't believe he's good enough as a head coach. I like him more as an assistant.

EDIT: as CH noted, Malone is with GS. Not sure why I thought he was with the Spurs, but he's been up for coaching jobs now for years. My mistake. I think I get him and Mike Buden...whatever his name mixed up for some reason.

Regardless....Mike Malone isn't coming to Houston for anything short of a head coaching job, and there wont be an opening for quite some time. Also I would rather one of the assistants to McHale now get that position if it was to open up after next season.

I certainly dont think the Rockets are going to lose all of their assistants this year. Maybe 1 of them but certainly not all of them.

Plus, Im sure at least one of them would like to stay and be next in line if McHale decides to step down after next year. Coaching the Rockets in 2015 with Harden, Parsons, Asik, and potentially someone like Howard is a way better career move than the 2013 Bobcats.

FYI- Nick Nurse will almost certainly get the call up from the Vipers as well. He really showed alot this season down there in the valley. Had a ton of talent, but a very difficult situation to deal with in the Rockets constantly shuffling his roster, and dealing with bonehead lockroom distractions from "some players."

Also wouldn't be surprised if there are coaches in Europe Morey has been hiding under a rock somewhere that he would love to bring over as well.

As for front office staff, Im sure Morey runs into plenty of smart forward thinking folks every year at the sloan conference he could bring on.... or he could just start poaching talent from Clutchfans.....uhh... on second thought.... probably not....lol

 

The Milwaukee Bucks are bringing back three candidates to interview a second time for the franchise's head coaching job, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Atlanta Hawks coach Larry Drew, Houston Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Steve Clifford will meet with Bucks officials this week in Milwaukee, sources said.

Clifford will visit Milwaukee again on Tuesday, and Sampson and Drew on Wednesday, league sources said.

This cracked me up; it's funny 'cause it's true. I wouldn't be surprised if he snags a front office person from there as well, or steals him from Wall Street.

Kind of interesting how Milwaukee wants Sampson as head coach after he was an assistant there prior to joining the Rockets.

 

He gotta be somewhere doe...

Barring a random candidate stepping in, I think Sampson is likely gone to the Bucks.
