Good point. The Battle of the Blackwater last season aired during Memorial Day weekend and it had the lowest ratings of the season because of it. They definitely don't want a repeat of that.
I dunno, I think people should be allowed to choose, what happened to America and the freedom of choice. WARNING: DO NOT CLICK THIS IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. Spoiler haaaaa don't you feel like Gendry with your blue balls now, i'm not tellin
I only realised this in the banquet scene, but Tywin Lannister's clothes actually looks similar to a modern day black suit (or as close as you can get whilst remaining in that period). No wonder he consistently looks more badass than other people in their flowing gowns and crap. And I loved Tyrion's threat.
I don't recall Tyrion making that offer. Maybe I missed that line, but it's hard for me to imagine that since * spoiler regarding book Shae: Spoiler it would have really stuck out as against character for Shae since she is defintely still being paid in the book. All I recall is Shae asking Tyrion to come with her across the narrow sea and leave all this behind, and Tyrion refusing. I really liked this last episode though, and over all season 3 has been much better than season 2.
As far as this episode, I would like to thank Emilia Clarke and Carice van Houten (sp?) for their return to gratuitous nudity. Actually, the scenes weren't entirely gratuitous, but you'd think the actresses would be able to decline ("well, if you hadn't killed Ros, you wouldn't have to ask me to show my ass! oh, all right; but I want more money.") These scenes wind up on the Internet forever, so: thanks, ladies! But simply a superior episode overall. A lot of this had to do with the tight focus. Two or three main storylines bookended with Arya and Sam. Peter Dinklage finally got to rip loose again. He's been tamped down all season, save a scene or two. He'd almost be back in Emmy talk for this episode alone. I only wish each episode were longer (don't we all?) to get more dialogue out of these scenes. The Hitchcockian touch at the end was a 10 on a 10 scale. Loved it.
I have been really impressed with the way HBO is editing and revising the original story. The scene where Tarly kills the White Walker is stronger in the show than the book. And they're making connections with the Red Priestess and the power of the Red god that weren't in the book, but are making the story richer.
It was a necklace made of gold. Tyrion made the comment on the same epidsode that Shea wanted to go across the sea with him. Yes Shea gets money from Tyrion but IMO only, it's more in the sense that she is a kept woman and not a w****. I know symantics here.
Really enjoyed the episode last night. Reading all the chatter about the big moments is just setting my expectations super high. It's going to be a long 2 weeks....
because he's samwell tarley. He thinks with his emotions and not his mind. Its the only reason why he attacked the white walker.
I'm pretty sure it was a white walker. The wights (not whites) are just revived dead, but the White Walker we saw last night was more than that. He was also the same one that led the attack at the Fist of the First Men to end last season.
So a non book reader here... but what's up with the sword and how come it could kill the white walker?
It hasn't been explained yet on the show, but I think we can assume that there is a special relationship between the dragon glass and the white walkers. Sam found the items at the First of the First Men. Weren't they covered by a ranger previously meaning that stuff belonged to the Night's Watch? It seems that in a previous time the Night's Watch used them to fight the Walkers and now they've just forgotten as the years have gone on?
You right. Well its called a "Song of Ice and Fire" so we all know how it ends and what the dragons are to the white walkers. The ending of the series is going to be Dany swooping down on her dragons and saving the 7 kingdoms from the invasion of the white walkers beyond the wall as winter comes.
This could be correct, however, i'm inclined to believe it won't be so easy as Dany just flying around on her dragons....just basing this off my opinion of how Martin writes. If you know something don't spoil it for me lol, i'm only on book 4!
