great great call...i still prefer home slice, but little deli has awesome everything. love that place.
It may depending on where you've eaten but the crust on deep dish is usually the same. I myself prefer chicago-style thin over any other kind of pizza. Not a huge fan of deep dish, but I'd eat it at certain places. This is pretty funny regarding deep dish. http://www.holytaco.com/drunken-argument-friday-chicago-pizza-vs-new-york-pizza/
I've had good italian here, but I'm not a big fan of italian in general. Pasta, meh. Pizza I agree, we suck.
Zio's Pizza in Omaha was pretty decent; but for comparison the most popular place was some Mexican/Italian joint called Romeo's. And those people love their barbecue chicken pizza.
the best pizza i have tasted in houston was spankys.. now im not a foodie, and i havent tasted a ton of spots.. i thought chicago beef was very good pizza too.. i was disappointed with fuzzys. never tasted stars or pinks and i hear this pi pizza truck is damn good.. now i never understand when people say things like we dont have good pizza.. what exactly does it mean, ive eaten some damn good pizza, to the point i wonder how much better can it get. i mean im certain all those locations in new york and chicago are great but whats stopping that pizza from being made here. i worked for a pizzeria that had brick ovens and even cooks from ny and it was damn good pizza. i saw the quality of the pizza deminish as the owner tried to cut cost and started limiting the cooks to only use a certain amount of cheese and sauce per pizza. i used to deliver to a man that was born and raised in brooklyn and he told me the pizza was the best he tasted since living in houston, he used to order 2-3 times a week.. but oh well, has anyone tried the pi pizza truck, my buddy swears by it. they deliver im just not in their area and havent made the trip out there. i hear theyre open until they run out of ingredients..
Agree Home Slice way better than Roppolos. In Houston some of my favorites are Brothers, Romano's, Ponzo's, Luigi's.
I thought Pi Pizza Truck was meh. Payed $8 bucks for a slice and it wasn't even that good. Pizzas are much like burgers. One guy will swear buy a burger...another will say it's the worst they've ever had.
Pizano's in Chicago deserves that rating. That place is truly amazing, and it's in the heart of Chicago. The environment is great. I have to try Roppolo's when I go back to ATX for summer school, but I still like Homeslice and East Side Pies. How good is the pizza place in Houston and Dallas?
