Are you referring to the HEB brand stuff over in the refrigerated section that comes in a bag type container? If so, that is some pretty good stuff that I forgot about.
During football season I experimented to see which salsa I liked best, so I would buy a different one every week. I did'nt like the salsas that are advertised as "Mexican" and it tastes all sweet and stuff. Mexicans don't put sugar or any sweet crap in their salsa!
I love salsa that has more citrus flavor (I think) then the kind that has a lot of tomato paste. I need to learn how to make it. But then the problem is I like fresh tortilla chips better then store bought to.
Give this a try . Really good and one of the lower priced salsa's HEB sells . Several different flavors but been hooked on this one for a while .
That's a pretty good one I think. I seem to prefer the the medium over the hot, a little better tasting, haven't had the other three. Lately I've been getting the Herdez salsa in a can, it's a little more salty than sweet with some good heat. I usually heat some up throw some fresh cilantro on and chow down but I have yet to find a store bought one that I really love. If anyone has any good recipes please share.......especially if using all fresh ingredients
Bump. Picked up a store bought salsa from heb I've never seen before. It's HEBs that sauce. I purchased the spicy red and mild green. Really good stuff.
We would eat that all the time in college. I think the chips started upsetting my stomach so I stopped gorging myself with them.
You can get Van de Walle Farms salsa at HEB, but I think you can only get HOT at Wal Mart. This stuff is cheap, and absolutely fantastic.
