by the way, just out of curiousity, are you guys A) standing totally still like on a tripod and scanning the surrounds B) moving up and down the street to gather more information C) noting signs in your surroundings, and then going to Google Maps to search for the street signs/road signs/business names? I think everyone should be playing on a fair level and just be only doing A). The extra searching on Google is just plain r****ded. Maybe I'm bitter and/or jealous about some of the impossibly high scores here, but I thought I'd rant anyways. lololol
I'm going with route B since it's the ultimate middle ground. You're utilizing what the surroundings give you by moving around but you're still not using outside sources to look up information.
One my second one i got dropped right next to the post office in ocean city maryland, missed the exact location by 0.08 miles. The ones without english signs are a b****. Got dropped in Bulgaria, how in the hell am i supposed to figure out Bulgaria. I guessed Russia, got somewhat close. Also had Austrailia near perth(figured out the country), Manitoba (almost exact), and somewhere outside St.Petersburg Russia(again guessed Russia) Actually got a 15624, Manitoba and Maryland were about 10000 of the points

No googling, I didn't even move from the location. In other words I went with A. http://www.geoguessr.com?v=eyJ0b3Rh...nZSI6ZmFsc2UsImNoYWxsZW5nZVNjb3JlIjpudWxsfQ==
I think Googling adds to the fun of the game (i.e. helps you learn). I drive around looking for signs etc., then google for the information on those signs to narrow the location. In the process you learn something new about a place. It's fun.
GUISE, I need help. http://postimg.org/image/c3gqbujb3/ This is the SouthWest view. The orange blurry thing at the bottom of the photo is the guy taking the photos with his GEO camera. On the EAST side of the photo, you can see his shadow taking the photo.

I got some of the teachers at my campus into this game. We have a lady who has been a teacher for about 30 years and she just scored around 33k points! I am so jelly!
It's kinda hard to do A) when you get dropped on a dirt-road in the middle of nowhere and the only thing you have to go on is the species of grass you can see. Of course, it's equally hard doing B) and C) in that circumstance.
http://www.geoguessr.com?v=eyJ0b3Rh...uZ2UiOmZhbHNlLCJjaGFsbGVuZ2VTY29yZSI6bnVsbH0= Finally broke 30k. Plenty of googling.

It's tough when you are in the middle of nowhere. score 15628
Try to beat my score, http://www.geoguessr.com?s=eyJ0b3Rh...1ODI5OTg2NTk5MTgsMzguNzYyODI4NzA3Njk1MDFdXX0= , dudes. Check out how accurate the last point is. If you send me the wrong one, I will know where the points are.
I got one correct within a couple of metres. It was on a bridge on the south of kruger narional park, I have visited kruger twice, and stayed in south Africa for 4 months during my master. So it was easy, I recognized the place. B is the way I play this game.
Here is my score versus yours: http://www.geoguessr.com?v=eyJ0b3Rh...lbmdlIjp0cnVlLCJjaGFsbGVuZ2VTY29yZSI6MTU2Mjh9 EspaƱa France Portugal
I got dropped inside a restaurant without being able to move, just rotate and zoom. A google mapper must've been having lunch and kept the camera on. If you're dropped on a desert like road with no signs... you're probably somewhere in Australlia. I had a few of those.
