Looks like 37-17 with 2:47 to go in the 4th. May rush for 3 yards to the Wyom 31. 17 37 End of 4th Quarter
What are y'all arguing about anyways? In an SEC game the crowd would still be there, even if it was boring. I guess there's no 6th Street to sneak off to in those boring SEC towns. Just blame it on that, save face.
You answered your own question - having never been to Starkville/Gainesville et al on a Saturday night, I'm not in a hurry to share that experience (though I liked Athens I must admit the one time I was there back in the 90's)
So students who receive federal loans, grants, state scholarships, etc. will be exempt from paying the additional student fees that will be used to fund this expansion?
Haha, I was in Oxford last year when Texas beat Ole Miss 66 to something. The only people left in the stands in the 4th quarter were Texas fans.
What additional student fees? The only way you pay for this if you are a student is to buy football tickets. The cost of a sports pass will increase a little to pay for the expansion. Of course, student football tickets are cheaper because they are subsidized by alumni contributions to the 12th Man Foundation when we buy our season tickets. Half of the expansion will be funded by the sale of suites and PSLs on certain alumni seats. The cities of Bryan and College Station are issuing over $100 million in bonds to avoid the loss of jobs and business that would have happened had the team played a year or two outside of the area. Add in a couple of dollars per ticket in a ticket tax, and BOOM...there ya go.
Not much excitement in the RRR either, right SamFisher? lol the butthurt and delusion are at an all time high. Please bros, let "little brother" enjoy our time in the "tiny sliver of east Texas" that we live in. And go back to Shaggy and fat Ketch where the sun is shining and mighty Texas is still king of college football. Spoiler
Why the focus on the Longhorns? This is not about them. This is about what is in the best interests of Texas A&M University.
Most Aggies I know feel the same way I do. When we made the decision to move to the SEC, it was part of a new identity for the program. A big part of having a new identity is no longer comparing ourselves to our friends in Austin.
Funny, because I haven't heard a whole lot of us comparing ourselves to LSU in the same way we used to with the Longhorns. Yes, there are comparisons with LSU during recruiting, largely because we are going after the same players as LSU.
It will be a good game. Both teams lost a lot of talent from early draft entries. LSU predominately on defense and A&M on both sides of the ball.
Honestly, the only people I know now who are still comparing Longhorns to Aggies are Longhorns themselves. I think, for the most part, most Aggies are past it. I think the unexpected success of this season helped accelerate the transition period into the SEC much faster than any of us were anticipating, and obviously having the current Heisman trophy winner helps us with the whole "scoreboard" aspect with UT as we leave them in the Big 12. Regardless though, there are still going to be the gomers who say, "Derrr saw em off!" after every TD we score against Bama, but you know.....gomers gonna gomer.
There are some Aggies who still feel the rivalry and measure us against them. However, in my experience, it is a minority.
