Damn you guys are making me want to play again... my life has been far more productive since I uninstalled that damn game months ago!
Marn from Team MRN is also from Houston. Currently in the League of Legends Championship Series Season 3.
This game is so bad right now. I can't play a normal without people fighting over roles and then consequently having to play games with a team with 2 mids, 2 jungles, 2 AD's. I wish somebody would play with me when my friends are away. I'm level 22 and have nobody to play with!
it gets a lot better after you hit level 30. the community is terrible but once you get to 30 it is way better. you still have your trolls but it isnt as abundant.
Unless you play ranked, I don't think it'll ever be better. If you have a slower computer, people are already calling for "mid" or "top" or "adc" as soon as you get into the room. I don't mind playing support, but that is ridiculous.
I've been playing a lot lately; feel free to add me: "seclusionx". I'm almost level 22. I'm out of town for the weekend, but I'll be back on Sunday or Monday.
SuperBee, can you add me? "seclusionx" I haven't played any rank games yet because I want to make sure I'm very good in those first few games. I pretty much play adc all the time.
Don't start ranked until you get to .500 w/l in normal games, unless you don't care about being bronze (but it takes forever to climb out once you're down there unless you get really good really fast). Also if you don't consistently get 200+ cs within 30 minutes as a laner (other than support), you'll likely go no higher than silver/low gold unless you get carried by someone you regularly duo with.
If you did not place in Seasons 1 or 2, the highest you can go is Gold 5 in Season 3, and that is by going 10-0 in placement matches. 49% of all players are in bronze, which I do believe is a good learning experience.
Pretty close to .500 right now, definitely need to work on my cs though. I'm starting to have a lot more games where I'm consistently leading in cs, but it's definitely something I could be better at.
