He is no artist like Hakeem or fundementlist like Duncan. He is a brunt force which has a relatively short shell life.
This is definitely not a good time to judge Dwight Howard's skill level. Remember he singlehandedly carried a mediocre Magic team to the finals. Just like Jeremy Lin, this past season he was recovering from his back surgery, so we can't judge him based on this past season.
Good point. esp. about single-handedly carrying a team to the division title. btw. Lin surgery was a meniscus tear, not back surgery.
Knee surgery too. http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/4/8/4203370/kevin-love-injury-timberwolves-knee-surgery
dont know why people keep referring to back when he led the magic to finals. that version of howard is never coming back. and yes he is past prime and it looks like he never learned a damn thing from hakeem.
He learnt that jump hook he used this season from Hakeem. But you're right, only incorporating one thing is not really progressing far. Hopefully he will learn a lot more from Hakeem this Summer and bring some "shakes" to Houston.
The guy is only 27... His prime... I think not... But if l.a. Feels so we can trade one player past their prime. Lin for howard straight up. Lin's prime was when he was on the knicks for that month. Since then he's been over rated and on the decline. So why not one decling star for the other.
the lakers had like a top 3-4 drtg in the nba after the all-star break. and when dwight was off the floor, they had the worst d in the league..didn't they win over 60% of their games to close the season in that stretch too. he also averaged 18/14 post as. he was playing hurt to start the season and was noticeably better as the season progressed. by the time it was after the all-star break, he was doing the same things he's done his whole career. no he isn't past his prime.
The guy is only 27... His prime... I think not... So you think Howard is not past his prime because he's only 27? Lin is 24, so by that logic he's probably not past his prime either. Lin for howard straight up. Hell yes!!! That would be a great trade. I'd do it in an instant!!! But I think you're dreaming. It's not like ly to happen like that, but then again, you probably know bball more than I do.
Just because your hatred has increased doesn't mean he is on the decline. Anyways, Howard isn't 100% this year. If he signs with Houston with Asik staying put, he could have plenty of opportunity to let it heal completely. It is definitely possible that he comes back more healthy and better than ever. I don't think he is past his prime yet.
Personally, I say his Prime start a few years back. He might be in the final stages due to his injuries or adjusting to playing against Western Conference bigs, time will tell.
Amare is not good at defense, that's true. But here we are compare injury impact to Amare vs DH12. Amare is more skillful than DH12, while Dwight 100% relies on his physical talent to perform. That said, an Amare without physical explosion could still contribute to his team, but if Dwight loses his physical explosion he would be a piece of junk.
