I think if it were clear to la that this was all d12 wanted in order to resign dantoni would have been gone already. But if its not a slam dunk that he'd resign, la can't risk letting dantoni go without reassurance. So this would have to mean there's a lot more to the decision for Howard than just coaching

I'd do Omer/D-Mo for their pick. I doubt Morey would pull the trigger if he didn't know if Dwight was coming. I'd do this in a heartbeat if it were next years draft, regardless if we got Dwight or not.

if you cant even hit "easy" 2s, then you're done. it happens. but the chance of you missing tons of 2s is less than missing tons of 3s. the difference is keeping the game close enough to get a run and hopefully hold the lead.

3s can get you back in it, sure, but even when the 3s bring us close, we CONTINUE to shoot them and expect them to bring us over the hump. its like riding the hot hand too long. at some point, you have to realize the run is over and to use solid bball the rest of the way. this is what we lack. solid bball. we rely too much on making runs.

its up to the GM to get these kinda guys. its up to the coach to utilize them.

if you can shoot the long 2 consistently enough, then that is a good shot for that player. its about adaptability and not sticking rigidly to the gameplan that brought you down to begin with.

it doesnt have to be shots at the rim either. it can be anything. the point is the be adaptable. a solid mid range game is just one aspect. 3s are super important as is paint production. BUT when those dont work, you have to have something else to fall on such as a mid range game. if the defense prevents penetration, you have no post players, and you are just off that night on 3s, then you need some mid range to keep you in it. this season, this is where we failed. we kept trying to shoot 3s or drive into defenders hoping the 3 falls or hoping for a foul. that's bad bball. we need to run some plays to get people open for buckets including 2s. make a few of those, make some stops and you're back in the game.

They are likely to offer pekovic for 10-12 mill... this would be great for us because we could than target minny for love...

As for the lotto pick, hell no... Not this years draft, and not their teens lottery pick...

Asik would likely fetch a top7 pick in next years draft, likely top5 this year....

So because you heard trade rumors of Josh Smith being traded means he hates playing for Atlanta? I guarantee he doesn't hate playing in Atlanta... It's Atlanta trying to trade him away and them not getting who they want for him.

    #4 in FTs attempted
#2 in PTS scored per game
    #6 in offensive efficiency

The game plan worked and it worked well. It would be nice to improve our team FT%, that would certainly make things even better, but the offensive plan was not the problem.

Defense, defense, defense is the key.

If Howard was trying to leverage, he could just present mitch with a list of demands, some take it or leave it, some negotiable, and it could all be sorted in under a week, but that doesn't seem to be remotely close to what's going on.

Where are those 60% midrange shooters, Type Raba? (Hint: There are none!)

You shoot the 3 consistently over the long 2. It's a more efficient shot.

You go to the rim because it results in more proficient results. What you don't do if you want to win games is to just simply take what the defense wants to give you. Because every team in the league will give you the 18-20 footer all game long and be thankful every time you shoot it instead of being aggressive to the rim and then moving the ball around the perimter to find the open 3-ball.

Meyers Leonard and 1st (10th pick) for Asik.....ONLY if Dwight signs with Houston. Then put together a package for Love.

People keep saying this. Leverage for WHAT exactly?? He already knows he's getting the max from them so it's not like he has any negotiating to do. This decision is going to be purely based on what Dwight wants to do. Every team in the NBA is going to give them the maximum amount of what they are capable of giving him.

Those Portland rumors are leaks from Portland to alert Dwight they want him. That lottery pick plus Wesley Matthews contract to a team with cap space...Dallas, Atlanta, Houston.....gives them the cap space to sign Dwight. Lillard, Bynum, Dwight, Aldridge...that's a nice group. Championship worthy.

But it hinges on Dwight wanting to go to Portland. Dunno if he would.
