Uh, neither of those teams won championships. What's your next criteria?

The last things you mention are what attracts people to
houston. Then they find out it has a lot of the first things you mentioned once they get here. That's why so many ballers live here.
oHouston is not some unknown. It's not La, nyc, Chicago, or (only recently) Miami, but its in that next tier. It's a top 8 media market.

What's the difference?? With two superstars you get a better chance at the chip. The risk you're suggesting is that d12 won't be healthy enough to be on the court. So the reality in this situation is you have a better chance to win it all or suck terribly if d12 is injured.

With Asik and one superstar you (assuming Asik is healthier than d12 and can stay on the court longer) you get a good team that has a better chance of staying good throughout the season but less of a chance to win the chip.

To your comparison, does it make a difference i you suck terribly bc d12 is injured or if your a perinnial 8th seed but never a legit contender. NO....it's all about the chip. So you go with the high risk/high reward route.

Simple math dude....in a world where 2nd, 3rd,4th place matters than yeah play it conservative....but you might be okay with that but I think most people what the chip.

And I don't necessarily assess the risk of d12 health the same as you. I might assess his mental strength and maturity as a risk though.

But if by chance you do agree that any team needs more than one superstar but you just have issue with d12 bc of his health. What other option is viable to you now that doesn't require giving up assets? Meaning who do you think we could sign with cap space? I'd be open to suggestions but if you're arguing that we should stay with what we've got, all I can say this team will be good but not a championship team without another max player.

so rickynewport, if we got dwight you're saying we won't be better as a team meaning we wont have a better chance at winning the "chip" ?

Everything this guy has said hints towards Dwight leaving LA

This, coupled with quietly-implied Anti-LA tweets makes me think we have a chance.

I am really surprised that nobody actually respond to that. Holiday is playing for the 76ers......they need a Center.....if I'm not totaly wrong they have enough cap space and who is their GM again?

I believe he said at one point last week that if he doesn't stay in LA, it's Houston for sure.

this ideology imo is the reason why we kept on getting off to slow starts this past season. shooting so many 3s and believing that the numbers will even out in the end is not the way to go. many times, bball is a game of runs. once the other team gets off to a hot start, us waiting for the numbers to even out does the team no favors. it kills energy, kills confidence, etc. having a double digit deficit for 3 and a half quarters, and then making a bunch of 3s in garbage time to make the score less of a blowout, is a recipe for failure.

I don't think Rudolph has a clue right now. He's just sharing his opinion, and I'd be shocked if he had ANY part in influencing Dwight.

Philly will not trade their only star/potential star for Asik unless Parsons is involved.

Totally agree that the game is a game of runs.

However, for all those 3s clanking, a team can shoot midrange 2s and those things clank like the liberty bell too. Just ask the Celtics. By the way, I'd much rather see those 3s clanking than to relive that nightmare that I wake up with sometimes, that bad dream of Juwan Howard clanking 18 footer after 18 footer and Phoenix running it up our behinds.

3's can get you down, but it's one miss. It's the same thing as that long 2 missing. The difference is when there is a run, the 3-ball gets you back in it quicker. Those blowouts that we made close by shooting 3's...they would have still been blowouts if we were missing long 2's.

There's too much data here. Go back and look at those shot charts. Study them. Peruse them. And drill it into your mind. We ain't got no 60% midrange shooters.

I am very confident that if we had a 60% midrange shooter that that guy would have the freedom to jack up as many midrange shots as he could find himself open for. But we don't. And neither does practically every team in the league. The long 2 is the worst shot in basketball.

The answer is to stopping opponent runs and being cold from distance is not to step into a bunch of long 2 jumpers. The answer to stopping runs and to being cold from the 3-point line is to get it to the rim. That's why we are trying to get a guy like Dwight.

I think he was saying holiday is there to recruit Howard, as well.

I tweeted Jerrod Rudolph and he said he doesn't a Josh Smith, Dwight Howard, and James Harden trio in Houston. When I asked of The Beard was recruiting Josh Smith or Dwight Howard he tweeted at me "Smart man". Some interesting info to say the least..

This Jerrod Rudolph guy seems to be hinting Howard is going to Houston. Could it be that he's using rockets as leverage?

I'm dubious of the whole thing, myself. Yeah, it is fun speculating, though, as long as it doesn't turn into a train wreck.
