Agree. They pass to each other and play off each other better tha any 4-5 combo in the league. They dominate games better than any under-the-rim 4-5 combo I can recall.

Reading all the old posters HATING ON ZBO>.....SMH..a lot of you guys should eat your words and respect this man as being a winner and a DOG DOWN LOW.Something we need badly on the Rockets roster.Gasol and ZBO make the perfect combo and the Rockets need to copy this format if they want to be contenders because memphis has arrived and will stay atop the west for years to come.....

Conley is a beast and they are a shooter away from being a top tier 1 team in the west.

Yeah i remember the Rockets in the rumor mill about those two, but what I'm saying is that if we want to compete in the west then we need two bigs that can bring what Gasol/Zbo bring. Currently we are set with a center that has the potential to develop but nobody near the skill and smarts of ZBO and it looks like the road to the finals will go through Memphis for a few years to come so the Rockets need to solidify a front court if they want to have a chance with Memphis in the future.

I mean how inportant is a Low post scorer in the NBA! VERY VERY INPORTANT.....all the teams that lacked a low post threat (minus MIA) have been knocked out the playoffs...Go figure:eek:

Marc. Marc anchors the team on both ends. His ability to stretch the floor and make great passes and score in the post in unmatched by any other center in the NBA.

And on top of that he is one of the best defensive anchors in the NBA.

To be fair, Randolph was deemed wasted talent. Not a bust, because he had some very good seasons. But I understand why so many had dismissed him, even midway through the season. Time and time again in his career, people though he tured the corner, and he'd just end up getting lazy and overweight, while having some off the court issues.

Z-Bo has finally grown up. And is playing at a level, that could potentially foil Miami if they get there. The sad part is, because I was always a fan of his game, is its just coming on this late in his career. The guy had all the talent in the world to become an all time great PF. I though at some point he'd go the way of Derrick Coleman or Vin Baker.

So a friend of mine believes Zbo is a top 10 player in the nba and harden is not. Please tell me how stupid of a statement that is.

Based on their respective performance in the current play-offs, it's not.

Did Pop just figure his game out or was this just a fluke series? He was horrific.

And lol at some of these statements in this thread.

The Griz were playing 3 vs 5 on offense with Prince and Allen out there, which allowed San Antonio to ignore those two and collapse on Randolph. It's as simple as that. They didn't have to guard those other guys. It's too bad for Memphis they didn't have the multi-dimensional wings and floor spacers they used to have. Z-Bo was still a beast on the boards.

ZBo isnt that good, the real gem on that team is Gasol, you wont find a more complete center in the league.Zbos a good scorer but the same time MG covers and bails him out a lot on D

There were plenty of times Z-Bo was single-covered by Diaw and Bonner and did nothing at all. Often he would just stand around an entire possession waiting for someone else to shoot and then try to crash the offensive boards. Other times he tried to post up either guy but could not establish low post position.

The monster was a flaming failure against the Spurs. The swarming got into his head, often made him passive without the ball and he rarely felt comfortable taking his outside jumper. I lost count of how many close-in shots he missed.

Kudos to Pop and the Spurs defensive effort and scheme, but Z-Bo allowing himself to be mentally defeated was the main culprit. That is why the series was a sweep.

He was horrifying from the FT line. Granted the whole team was, but it just sucked any momentum Memphis had away...

If they gave up on Gay earlier and kept Mayo ... they would have a pretty complete team.
