If they said The Rockets would have won the series with Memphis, would that make them better hosts?
We were clearly much better at the end of the OKC series than when we started. Going in no one had a clue. It was a completely neww stage for everyone. Even Harden had a completely new role and a lot of responsibility. By the end of the first game. Everyone realized it's just a game. OKC is not any different only they have experience. The next game we played better but Lin got hurt. We lost but we easily could have won. The same goes for the third game. Also for all those people who think we are better off without Lin. Stupid. Lin played bad that first game like everyone else. But Lin played better the second game until he got injured. There is no doubt in my mind he would have continued to improve had he remained healthy. When you want to predict the future look back at the past. All season long Lin has learned from his mistakes and improved. The same would have happened in the playoffs. Lin would be healthy by now. We would have even more experience by now. Not saying we would beat Memphis. But certainly we would not have made it easy for them.
They are people too. The NBA Dish is full of us Rockets fans hating on other teams, why get mad when someone hates on ours?
So hating is redefined. If some one said the Rockets would lose to who and who, he is hating on the team?
Asik matches well against Gasol and if we go small Harden covers Randolph which favors on one side but favors harden even more on the other side. No sweep happening. The Rockets improved in the playoffs. The Grizzlies are who they are. Not saying that ain't good just we were close in the regular season and we are closer now.
I don't see where people are getting this from. This team is pretty big. We just need one more big man to be too big. As a matter of fact, if McBrail would have played other guys like Ohlbrecht/Jones more, we would have been there already.
Harden on Randolph? um no that is a horrible idea, Not only would Randolph destroy him, Harden would probably foul out in the 1st quarter, because that is all he could do to him..
we played Mem pretty well in the reg season. We won in a blowout once and the other two were pretty close. I think we would have given a better fight than OKC.
not sure i really understand that game plan. ZBO isn't going to defend Harden. And Harden can't defend ZBO.
Huh? Randolph covering Harden? No matter what kind of line up the Rockets use, they'll put Tony Allen on Harden.
The Rockets have a zero for an answer for Gasol...(Think Asik would do fine against ZBo)...and then Memphis has the length and defensive talent to shut out James Harden from being effective...There wouldve been times with cross matches that Parsons wouldve had to guard Gasol.. And that is not good for your Rockets...I think the Rockets wouldve played TJones more if that were the case, but Memphis >>>>>>>Rockets at this stage..the Addition of a big post presence could change the result... (Imagine Asik and Pau vs ZBo and Marc) That would be fun...
gasol's impact is huge. he can't truly be shut down because his impact comes from other areas. he's a terrific passer, and become money from mid-range (which would take asik away from the basket). and he's just a monster defender. i think this playoff zbo woulda murdered us, especially because we were almost forced to go small with no real pf in the rotation. zbo on the offensive boards woulda been torcher. i think harden would have struggled even moreso against the grizz (big to's and ~33% shooting). and the same problem of having no backup to asik woulda still existed. not to mention, memphis has shown good execution in this post season against solid defenses. in fact, there was a game or two they had more transition points than the thunder or clips. with our turnovers, they would just out execute us because they'd control tempo. the grizz had like a 111 ortg in the first round, and 108 overall for the postseason. i think we'd also lose in 5.
You really need to get your facts checked before talking about something you don't listen. I am a fan of the show, and honestly they're not bad. They just have awful basketball IQ and they don't like to be homers like OP. But AJ Hoffman is so negative and just terrible on Basketball talk. But to say this " they make comments consistently that Dallas is a way better city" that just pretty much tells you don't listen to the show. Believe me, I have listen to the show since 2009 and I did listen to the show when AJ hoffman's first show there, back in spring 2010. And they never mention Dallas a better city, or bad talks about Houston. Especially saying Houston has ugly women, when AJ's wife is from Houston and they live here. LOL Yeah, AJ is a horrible basketball analyst he is so negative. But, dude. you're way off on the rest. The show is not bad, they are fun to listen to. I love Fred Faour, and I miss Mike Dine because he was better than AJ Hoffman. Especially on Basketball. But over all the show is not bad.
