I can't believe that the grizzlies are on the brink of a conference finals

Seriously, I have not been fortunate enough to see many teams I've backed for so long get this far in their respective sports.

The last time a team of mine did anything was 2000 superbowl tennessee titans, and before then it was the houston rockets back in 1994/95 and before then LOVE YA BLUE. Those teams all had something to root for:

Titans: the late great Steve Mcnair, Eddie George and the Freak.
    Rockets: OT and Hakeem!
    Bum and Earl!

Now we have a bunch of ragtag players in the grizzlies: tony allen, Marc Gasol, Zach and Mike Conley. A bunch of lunchpails players and what is so satisfying about it is the grizzlies never got any credit from anybody at all but they're forcing the media to scrabble and figure out just who this team is:

For all you media types, I'll make it real simple: GRIT AND GRIND, BABBBYYYY

I think the Grizzlies win even with Westbrook there.

I thought coming in, they were the favorite out in the west if they could get past LAC. They match up really well with every other team.

Conley and Tayshaun are good enough to slow down Durant and Westbrook.
Zbo/Gasol, Conley can slow down Duncan/Parker.

No one really has an answer for the Zbo/Gasol combo. Having 2 skills 7 footers is super valuable.

The Grizz have a chance to win it all. They are the worst possible matchup for the Heat. 2 big men, lots of offense rebounds. That is really the only way to beat Lebron and crew.

Really? YOU can't believe it?? Of all people. Thank the Rudy Gay trade.

This team is full of players who know exactly what their job is. Love watching a team like this.

Lack of three point shooting ability will cost them in the conference finals.

Rooting for them for the sake of the NBA. I hope they take down the Heat. I've always enjoyed well rounded basketball teams and it would show that you don't HAVE to have 2 superstars if you have above average to very good players at every position.

All of this without Kevin Durant! But they do have Chris Paul so it kinda makes up for that.

Nah, can't root for Memphis. Go Spurs &/or Heat.

I've been saying Memphis pretty much all year if they could just get past OKC (Granted, I was thinking that they had a healthy Westbrook at the time and I thought that task would be extremely difficult). I think if Memphis comes out of the West, Miami will no repeat.

We all tried to tell you the Rudy Gay trade made them better. You refused to listen. I'm not surprised at all.

I have to agree. When they traded Gay, I thought they shot themselves in the foot. I really didn't expect them to be any better that a 7 or 8 seed, if they made the playoffs at all.

And roflmcwaffles, Memphis doesn't have 2 7 footers. Zbo is just a solid 6-9 tank.

rockets FO needs to take notes..

obviously we don't have a marc gasol and randolph, and our best player is a perimeter player..

but we need to copy the vibe of that team. we need a tony allen type. heart and soul blue collar *****..

right now we dont have one of those
