Garnett would waive his no trade clause to join either of LA teams

3 way trade where Clips get Garnett and Rox get Paul and Boston gets the sloppy thirds.

 

Do you understand that nothing is better than anything the Lakers could send them? and the Lakers salary cap position make sending nothing impossible?

 

Dwight is the only player on the Lakers roster under 32 that isn't garbage, what would a team that decided to blow itself up do with that?

I think Gasol's contract could be tempting for the Celtics if they want to rebuild.

I can see a deal where the Lakers get Garnett, Bass and Courtney Lee in exchange for Gasol + Jordan Hill. It gives the Lakers some good depth and the Celtics will have a young team with cap space in sight.

Would probably convince Howard to sign with Lakers. Would probably prompt Gasol to retire. Would probably convince Pierce to walk, and then sign with Lakers too (they could use him at the 2/3).

Old team, but IMO if the Lakers try to go young, they willl lose Dwight.

 

If we were to get Howard or a big acquisition this offseason, Garnett may waive his trade clause for the Rockets. Health is a concern, but i think he'd enjoy playing for McHale. I'd take a rental for one of Moti, Jones, or T-Rob plus whatever to make salaries match.

 

He should join the Nets. He'd fit a need perfectly. They need a defensive guy next to Brook and they especially need a defensive guy when Brook sits down, their defense goes to hell without Brook Lopez' rim protection.
They could offer Humphries expiring + picks.

Possible step 2: if there are no legit Paul Pierce trades, he gets cut (which saves Boston a ton of money since he's partially guaranteed) and joins Brooklyn on the cheap.

 

For what? next year's draft looks to be the best since 2003, if the Celtics go to rebuild, their goal is to suck, they would ship out Rondo as well.

The best way to rebuild is to be really bad (which is exactly what they did prior to acquiring the big 3, their owner talked about how being crap to accumulate the assets for Garnett took 5 years), especially leading into one of those great drafts.

 

Do people even fathom the best way to rebuild? Morey would have made us suck more than a $2 hooker if Les had allowed it.

 

When is Rondo coming back? It would make sense to give him "a little extra" time to heal up Rose style. Ship Garnett, Pierce, Terry, C-Lee, feature Jeff Green on the way to a 20 win season.

 

Sometime next year probably, it wouldn't be the worst thing for him to be given an 18 month rehab from his injury.

 

Garnett to Rockets is a high possibility because of McHale. I do believe Garnett would go to any built teams that is out there that isn't the Heat. Having a player like this would make the team so much better. If we don't get the big piece this summer, it is just fantasizing.

 

Griffin, Butler, Bledsoe for Pierce, Garnett and Doc Rivers.

Resign Paul and keep Crawford, Barnes and bench etc.. you got maybe 1-2 years window as legitimate contenders in the weak west.

 

Bledsoe (young, has promise), Butler (expiring, crap player) for Garnett (Buy out Pierce, give Rondo extended recuperation time)

Why the Clippers do it? To win and keep CP3
Why the Celtics do it? Tank for the 2014 lottery (and man would they suck) whilst having an option in case someone offers something really nice for Rondo
