James Harden absolutely iso's way too much and Jeremy Lin is not the second coming of christ. But it doesn't matter what you say, the logical voices will always be shouted out. There is no reasoning with Lin Fans so if you question or criticize him at all, you are racist.
uhh yah...he doesn't get hate by the mass of people just the media. The media hates Christians... They celebrate outspoken gay people that have no relevance on the court but criticize Christians that have serious impact in the game (tebow/lin) Pretty sure this is obvious. The media, industry are not christian and the country barely is anymore. Shoot just start a thread and hint that you are coming from a christian base and watch how much hate that thread gets. Thats what I mean. Lin gets hate from most on here for either his race or his religion...or just people that know nothing about his situation and just saw his stats go from 21 and 7 to what they were last year. Any objective person can see around those things.
Also 73% of Americans identify themselves a christian and I am one of those people. I think Lin is inconsistent and it has nothing to do with race or christianity.
Yeah, the media hates Christians. That's why no political candidate can get elected if they're Christian. That must be why we have so many atheist, Muslim, and Buddhist politicians in office. /sarcasm
No... the media reluctantly covered linsanity. then immediately bashed it as not sustainable...that it was an accident... he wont be in the league years from now etc etc.
Seriously? Its because at least 50% of America is christian. 5% of the media is. As far as politics they do it in order to not exclude themselves from all that 50%. I am specifically referring to sports...so to everyone else I am not trying to get this political. Most media outlets and analyst hated on lin. Most hated on tebow... It was easy to tell their disdain for lins personal beliefs in the way the spoke they about them.
It is a damn shame when a thread is started with the best of intentions and actually stats to back its claims of Lin developing into a good PG in the future up only to wind up with the thread getting drowned in foolish hate and over compensating fans. On the actual topic, I like the assertion and while I think due to several factors I can't ever see Lin being as good defensively as Conley, I do think given time and actual experience he will be in that same tier of success that Conley has reached this season if not higher.
I didn't say everyone hated for race or religion but most do. My circle of friends are mostly christian but rag on him for being Asian (whites and blacks) By that I mean do not that he is any good regardless of stats. They didnt in New York either. But almost none of them follow stats closely. It doesn't take much research to see the problems lin (from his own mouth) that race has caused him. Religion I feel is ever more obvious. If you dont see it...Its not worth debating. But based purely on his situation most of us on here just be encourage about his future. Coming off major injury, First real season, New Team (all really young) , playing off the ball most of the time goes against is strong suit. What he did and what the team did that should be encouraging to anyone. So non-basketball reasons are the only way to logically explain it.
yah my bad...I agree with your point. I didnt mean to get the thread off track. Purely speaking from a basketball perspective. I agree with the Conley comparison. Morey said Lin was top 5 in pick n roll. He also said he was really good at defense just struggled with certain aspects. That should be able to work through and become really good at defense. With Lin vowing to work really hard on his game. Especially the parts he is not good at. I think next year will be a huge jump...much like lowry did his 2nd year with us.
Lol really dude? Lin didn't get any D-1 scholarships most probably cause of race, and even at Harvard he was playing like one of the top players in the country. He was top 30 in wooden award and a Bob Cousy award finalist which includes the top point guards in the country. It could be argued with those college results he didn't get drafted because of race. Just because he wasn't drafted doesn't mean he's just a scrub who sucks. He has proven to be a top 20 PG in the NBA or at the very least top 25. And what would you say for all those lotto picks who are now bench players or out of the league? Are they still better than Lin just because they were drafted high and Lin wasn't? Quit with the unnecessary bashing. He had a solid year. People don't realize how hard it is to put up great stats in this system playing alongside a superstar 2. I do think Lin/ Conley is a good comparison, and I do think he can be as good as him in the next couple years.
they didnt create linsanity...Jeremy lin did with his play...and the fans did with their response. Media covered it.
The funny thing is no matter if Westbrook played or didn't play Lin didn't show up. That's not a fluke thats just plain fear.
