Went fishing once and my boat capsized, then out of nowhere a man showed up, walked on water and pulled me out. While I was still in shock he gave me a glass of water, but somehow it was wine. No it was grape drink. I looked up to thank this stranger, and it turned out to be Avery. Stand up guy.
I met him before when I was little at my childhood barbershop in Missouri City TX...if Sampson or J.B. leaves I hope he is first on the list for replacement cause I think his career went similar like Lin w/o the Linsanity moment and he can help in his progression
No chance a former Coach of the Year AND NBA Finals coach would take an assistant job. He'll be back with ESPN next season and take another head coaching job in a few years.
Is it so unbelievable? I am sure that 90% of the people who met you probably never had a bad experience with you and this is a small sample size and maybe . . just maybe he is a legit good and decent dude Rocket River
I met him once at Sam's Club when I was a kid. I asked for his autograph and he said yes, but I had to help him take his groceries to his car. Pretty cool dude.
His son played in WCBL league in the Woodlands, I saw him there at the York junior high gym at times but I didn't meet him.
He's selling his Woodlands mansion. Looks more like a show house than a place where a family actually lives, but I guess that's just for selling purposes. http://www.chron.com/homes/gallery/Avery-Johnson-selling-home-in-The-Woodlands-64185.php
I side swiped his suv and immediately crashed into a concrete light post while trying to sneak away (didn't know it was him lol). My car was totaled, so he gave me a ride home. All the way to bay area blvd from westheimer outside beltway 8, which almost took an hour. That was generous considering the circumstances, but he wasn't as all nice & smiley as some of you claim, not to me anyway.
I remember reading about him dogging out The Admiral, without directly saying "this is who I'm talking about", during halftime of a game in the Playoff Series when Dream was ripping The Admiral a new a-hole. That was enough to make me appreciate him right there.
I worked at Mo's Place like 4 years ago while in school, and he used to come in pretty often with some light skinned woman i assume was his wife. He was always nice and tipped well so seems like a pretty good dude to me.
