I think its just a way to alter the details surrounding Episode 9. I recall seeing a screen of Robb and Talisa at the Wedding. She should not be there unless Spoiler she is going to reveal her treachery to the Starks. Presumably before Robb is murdered. Cat may kill her in an act of vengeance before she too is killed.
agreed...now the scene before the torturing was nice... I can't believe there are only 3 episodes left...
Question: Do you think this could work as a good draw for more interactivity? I remember the HEROes online comic . . I thought it was a good idea drew fans to the website If they threw extra footage [i.e. remove the Theon torture scenes from the show and moved it to a website] Would this be enough to make you traffic the site This would allow them to stay with the 'fast/main story' while allowing lesser characters to be developed on the site Rocket River Just curious . .. I think the future TV maybe more like that I could be wrong
I totally understand where you're coming from, and you may actually be pleasantly surprised. My recall of book 3 is essentially that it slowly built to a crescendo, and the pace really picked up in the 2nd half of the book (which will be season 4). You will start to get a strong whiff of the kind of excitement you can expect from season 4 near the end of this season 3, I expect.
I enjoy watching GOT, but I admit sometimes it's hard to keep up with this show. Can someone tell me why that guy (Theon Greyjoy, I think) is being tortured? I think I may have missed something.
I don't think you're supposed to know yet, so you didn't miss anything. IIRC one of the scenes was the torturer trying to get Theon to guess who he was and why he was torturing Theon. He is only guessing that it's probably a Northerner, who's doing it because of the things he did when he took Winterfell.
Episode 6 Breakdown on the wiki lists him as "mysterious boy" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_of_Thrones_(season_3)
He better, or a lot of people are going to be upset. He has mentioned in interviews that it has become a chore for him, though, so I doubt he's in any big hurry.
All I'm going to say on this is the guy told Theon exactly why he was torturing him a couple of episodes ago. The question I guess is do you believe him? Also it was stated already who has him earlier in the series but once again I'm not going there since some people still think for some reason that its a spoiler. Just an FYI, none of this was in the books, not to say it did or didn't happen just that it wasn't in SOS.
The initial plan was for 3 books. Then it was supposed to be 6. He's at 5 books now and the plan is for there to be 7. But at this point, who knows. The first book came out in 1996. Books 4 and 5 were supposed to be one book but it became so big he had to split it in two and it took him a long time. Book 3 came out in 2000, Book 4 in 2005, book 5 in 2011. So it took him 11 years to write and release those last two books. Some estimate that even working at a faster pace, it could take him 3 years for each of the last 2 books (from 2011) which would put the last one out in 2017/8 and there is concern over whether or not they will be out before the show catches up to the books.
I don't remember if I read this somewhere else, or if it's my original speculation, but I figure Martin has to have at least outlined the story to it's end and he's shared this with the HBO GOT team and that this is guiding some of the changes they are making. What if George Martin had HBO finish the series on film instead of writing the last two books?
He's already confirmed that he has given the outline for the ending of his story to HBO in case he dies without completing the work.
More Dany please. Her little snippets here and that are too often the best part of the entire show. I'm discovering as I read the books that it's the same way in them too. It's still INSANE to me that they went and got a former p*rn star to play this role, lol (I think Sibel Kekilli went by "Dilara" in her adult vids)
Love Danys scenes though I have to admit i DID NOT like dany in the books but totally agree about Shae. IMO easily the worst casting choice by the show... along with the actor playing john snow (who was one of my favorite in the books but bored/annoyed by in the show.
I hate every scene with Shae in it. Not just the actress but the writing too. I think it's horrible and makes Tyrion look like a CF-er getting Friend-zoned.
I agree. I enjoy her work with Sansa, but other than those scenes I find her unbearable. I don't feel like the relationship between she and Tyrion actually makes sense on the show either. She is whiny, demanding, ungrateful, short tempered...what quality does she have that he "loves" other than her being good in bed? I don't feel like the writers have effectively painted the picture of her as anything more than his favorite w**** really. I know his character loves her, but the scenes we see don't convey that as actually making sense. She has ruined Tyrion for me as anytime I see him I expect to see a dumb scene with her shortly thereafter.
