It's common knowledge that Ryan isn't happy that a large chunk of his control was taken away in Arlington... with new ownership, and an opening at CEO and President, is it time that Nolan and the 'Stros put bad blood behind them and reach an agreement? There's unfinished business in Arlington, but does anyone think there's a shot Ryan comes back to his REAL home? If not...any ideas on who'd take Postolos' spot?
Ryan's main beef is that he doesn't have enough control with the Rangers. He would get even less with the Astros. Barring a miracle, this one ain't happening.
seriously, awc713, you have underperformed with your threads today. First you "broke the news" that Carlos Rodon could be a top pick in the 2014 draft (*snicker*) then you come to us with 2 month old stale news about Nolan Ryan. not impressed by your day, son
i didn't "break the news" with carlos rodon... i was simply throwing out the notion that we will seemingly be battling with the marlins all year for next years number 1 overall pick. i wanted to see what others thought of that, and of carlos rodon, who i've read is the first "sure-fire" 1st overall pick since strasburg, harper, and cole... this thread is about discussions. i wanted to discuss these two topics: the state of our 2014 draft status and the void to be filled by our CEO and president resigning. i really hope my two sub-par threads did not ruin your day.
and to add, there was no 2014 mlb draft thread, so yes, i started a thread about a player who many have stated will be the #1 of said draft.
Exactly! It would not be a good fit at all for Nolan. Plus, Crane isn't going to give up any more control to Nolan that what he has in Arlington. The only thing Crane would probably like about Nolan is that he is white. Would have been great if Nolan would have led a group to buy the Stros instead of Crane, but we got what we got
this base fan think he's been an ass. but yeah, he's no dumbass. if getting Nolie in the org meant we would get Round Rock back, then I'd take him in a heartbeat. otherwise, he can keep his AL-loving ass in Dallas.
