If the Rockets sign Dwight without giving up anything, it puts them within striking distance. After what the Mavs did in 2011, I'm good with that.

This I've heard over and over and really gives Toyota Center a bad rep. Here I'm hoping to fly in and watch some games at TC next season. And you can bet I will be standing and cheering the Rockets on until the very end. Yet many of the locals just don't care as evidenced by the many empty chairs, which shows they have no hearts. Just sad.

There is pessimism and there is depression. I don't know which one you are in.

This is the first year we have this young core together. Just a few months ago we were staring at a 30 win season. Now we not only made it to the playoff, but also did pretty well. We have cap space to either sign a superstar or get short-term help good players. Things are really looking up in HTown.

Because the Thunder arguably had three superstars and we had one?

Has nothing to do with youth, the Rockets just aren't that talented of a basketball team right now. The results this season were proportional to the talent base. Hopefully that base will soon be upgraded.

In the first year of this core, they basically achieved the same as the first year Thunder that had Durant(#2 pick in 2007), Westbrook (#4 pick in 2008) and Harden (#3 pick in 2009) plus Jeff Green (#5 pick in 2007).

Looks like you are one of those who believe in the "pet degree". History has shown that brawn is helpful but smarts and strong determination are worth a lot more.

So... why did Harrison Barnes take 26 shots?

Why is Danny Green not guarding Steph Curry for the whole game? or at least most of it?

Because Steph Curry was hindered and the Spurs guarded Klay Thompson very tightly. It was their strategy to force other players besides Thompson to beat them. Barnes was usually guarded by smaller guys and the temptation to post him up was too great. But it was a failed strategy. Most of his makes came on jumpers facing the basket. I'll bet he was

Shaud, I guess because Curry had problems moving the Spurs didn't feel the need to sick Danny Green on him the entire game.

Funny thing is Curry still had a pretty good game especially in the 2nd half. He's back to back 3's in the 3rd quarter got the Warriors going.

The Spurs problems are plain and simple, they are not going to beat a younger team with a deep talent pool or elite level starting talent. That's almost the unifying trait between Memphis, OKC, and Golden State. On paper, was there a great disparity in talent between San Antonio and these other teams, in reality not at all. Though, I guess in regular season execution, the Spurs reigned a little more superior, though in the post season, you are often bound to run into teams who are simply as talented and can challenged the best things you tend to do on offense and defense.

They are almost like the Patriots now, they can beat every team on any given day, yet throw them into grueling playoff stretch...its becomes a matter of going up against teams who are just talented, if not more and a little hungrier with more horses.

It's kind of ironic for Golden State, the team that has be defined for a greater part of the last 25 years as one of the quintessential run"n" gun teams in the NBA. With Mark Jackson, the Warriors have slowly become a team that can win games, defensively without necessarily running up and down the floor and raining three pointers from every end of the 3 point line.

Waiting to see if Pop can choke away another series where his team was favored to win.

I think he made good adjustments in game 3. Problem is if he is going to play green on Curry. Parker is going to be exposed on defence and you can't exactly take him out.

Same when the bench brigade comes out with Neal and Joseph. They need bigger guards.

yes. they've made it a point (the warriors have) to post up those guys by getting a switch every time down the floor on offense. makes you wonder why they cut sjax. #playtmac hahahh

anybody also think pop shoulda maybe went with hack-a-bogut in that 4th. jackson has shown he'll take him off the court in those situations, and bogut's d in that 4th was a big reason warriors won.

As another poster mentioned, the ref will stop a game to check if it's a 2 or 3 in a situation where it would 'severely alter' the strategy (late game). It's irrelevant in the 2nd or 3rd quarter, regardless of the score. This point is invalid.

If the refs knew that stepping on the line means you're out of bounds, then this series could well be 3-1 and basically over.

So saying San Antonio can't beat Golden State because they're younger with talent makes little sense.

This. Did anybody even see Bogut holding Green's ball from getting the loose ball? They were getting away with that **** all game.

I love all these speculative things. Even if the referee sees Bogut out of bounds, no guarantee Spurs make the shot.

That being said, referees are human too and there's only so many things a person can see. I saw the slow motion replay on ESPN late last night and I don't think the referee could have seen it.

Why? The ball was bouncing around in there. It appeared to me that the referee was looking to see if players had their hands on the ball. If I recall correctly, Bogut never had his hands on the ball. The ball simply glanced off of Bogut.

Everyone can cry that "it was obvious Bogut was out of bounds". But we are looking at at angle / slow motion that can see that. Imagine the rush of bodies in there with the ball bouncing around.

I'm not a big fan of NBA referees but in this case, I think the guy did the best he could.

So, you're going to give the Spurs points, too, or just the ball? Unless you are just going to score points for them, they still have to run a 7 second play.
