The announcers strongly implied that they could.

If they can't, it's a loophole that needs to be fixed ASAP. It's completely logical to pretend the latter stuff never happened if the ball went out of bounds. No different than a football game in which a catch can be disallowed if replay shows the receiver went out of bounds beforehand. If instant replay is a part of the sport, and you have proof a player was out of bounds, that's the easiest thing to correct.

Steph Curry's high scoop shots are the 2nd coming of Rafer Alston's floaters. He should just stop. Seems like he's about 3/20 on them.

Yeah - I'm pretty sure they had no idea.

In this play, it makes sense because there was a timeout and play stopped before anything of note happened. But what if GS had gotten possession, went down the court, played for 20 seconds, and hit a 3. Do you go back and pretend those last 20 seconds never happened?

I can't remember the last time I've seen the Spurs look so completely lost in a clutch moment.

they could have reviewed it and change the play even after the timeout. It's just simply the refs didn't see it. Who saw that when it happened without it being mentioned? The refs weren't in position to see it

The Warriors have been doing loose ball fouls all game. This was a poorly reffed game. I don't blame the Spurs.

Given how offensively incompetent San Antonio has been for the last portion of this game, switching that call wouldn't have affected anything anyways.

Utterly disappointed. The Spurs will still win, but I actually thought they had a decent chance of defeating Miami if they made the Finals. With Parker and Duncan playing like this, they don't have a chance.

Doesn't matter who gets the ball now. 2-2 going back to San Antonio.

None of the 4 remaining teams in the West are impressive.

Yup. Whether a player is in or out of bounds is one of the most fundamental rules of the game. The importance of getting something that important right should far outweigh anything else, if you want instant replay to be a part of your sport.

With your logic about changing the "next 20 seconds", that's already happening to an extent. For example, a 2 can be changed to a 3 minutes after the fact (or vice versa). That's completely unfair to the other team, because the score late in games can dictate the nature of the ensuing possession. But the logic is that the importance of getting the 2 vs. 3 call correctly trumps all. Don't give me that, then turn around and say something like out of bounds shouldn't be reviewable on the grounds of what may happen later.

If that's the logic, take replay out of the game altogether. They just shouldn't go back and forth.

I would love to see Lin/Harden/Parsons incorporate more midrange shots as part of their game, just to keep things more varied.

Hubie Brown keeps making the wrong observations. Is he getting too old for this?
