not a trade outright, but a SnT is a different matter. Don't think they would want Asik though as they are already overpaying for Jordan. Don't think CP3 leaves though, so I doubt we'll have to worry about it
If they don't agree, we can still dump Asik, Lin and Jones' contracts to make room for Paul theoretically, although it may be hard to find a taker for Lin..
Jesus Christ, just reading that page gave me headache. I thought our fans were delusional thinking we're going to magically get CP3 and DH12. Laker fans think that playing with a 40 year old Nash, a declining Gasol, and Kobe minus an achilles is so attractive. And that LeBron will just drop all he's done in Miami to go play in LA with...whom, exactly? And all that butthurt that James Harden is the best 2 guard in the game. "bu-but muh floppin" then proceed to ignore all the star calls Kobe's gotten for...the past 13 years, I'd say?
lol yea right, thats why the cavs got back a bunch of useless draft picks in the lebron sign & trade.. they dont have a choice, its get something or nothing situation.. they arent calling the shots, cp3 and his new team are..
Dwight is that girlfriend that you know is bad for you, but is super attractive. You've seen her mess up other relationships, but with you, "things will be different". So, what are we waiting for? Let's give it a shot.
That was a completely different case. The Heat had enough cap room to sign LeBron outright, they did a SnT only to give LeBron a longer contract. But on the other hand we do not have enough room to sign Paul so we need to make a trade to make it happen and the Clips could use this as a leverage.
great! articles like this just might make Dwight want to prove he can make his own decisions as morey was saying, dwight is not our only goal. there are many ways to build a contender
He really wasn't bad in Orlando until the very end. He just got frustrated with Otis Smith's roster changes. I mean come on. He added Gilbert and Hedo to the team and expected Dwight to be content. That team was a disaster and I think Hennigan will fix them. LA was a disaster this year because injuries. This is Dwight's first true free agency period. I'd love him to come to Houston for the fact that he gives us a chance at a ring. No other center in the league offers taht despite how good Gasol and Noah are they will never be as good as Dwight was 2 seasons ago, we would be gambling that he could get it abck.
even his numbers from this season would make us contenders, he doesn't have to get back to 2 season's ago. however, there is a chance that he does get back to being healthy and motivated. if that's the case, then the rockets wouldn't just be contender's but favorites. dwight would beast on the heat's bigmen.
He wouldn't want to come at all if we would have to gut the team for him. He'd might as well stay in LA then.
if "gutting" the team means we'd give up asik/lin then it really wouldn't constitute the "gutting" of the team
Why are you guys saying we should S&T Asik though? Is salary matching necessary even if the other team has cap room? Can't we easily trade him for a 1st round pick to a team that has the cap space?
Dwight making his own decisions? Stop it! Probably being pulled in 5 different directions from his 5 mamas. Another direction from his agent(s). Another 20 directions from friends and family. Dwight making his own decision? But really, Dwight is probably listening to Dan Fegan.
Don't see why it would make a difference to Dwight. Why would he want to needlessly deplete his new team of assets? Just nonsensical logic here.
I guess I read too much into it, thinking the Lakers would be demanding so much for him (i.e. Lin, Asik, rookies, draft picks, Lexus Lounge season passes) Why are we trying to S&T with the Lakers, again?
